This belongs in the PS3 forum. And you calling America a crumbling empire is ignorant. America makes the gaming companies rich.Without it there would be no PS3. patriots7672

I can see from the responses in this thread that pretty much nobody knows what they're talking about. A year + of owning the PS3 has taught me this about pixel-counting: it's not how many it pushes, it's how good it looks pushing them. In that, reviews give the edge to the PS3. That doesn't make my e-peen grow (I own a PS3), it doesn't make my life better, it just is. It also is basically ownage for everyone who ever bashed a "sub-par port" on the PS3, since the differences between the two versions of many games has come down to the "edge" that's pointed out in the IGN review.

Again, what does this mean for me? Basically nothing, except a more technically sound experience - something I'm a big fan of.

And if you're one of those guys who read my previous posts scanning for "ownage points" and responding with , attention: you're part of the problem.

This rebate, just like the last one, is ridiculous in concept. It is essentially a forced loan, the money for which came out of social programs designed to help the poor. It will count as part of your earnings this year, and you'll have to claim it later on your taxes. The national debt is already ridiculous - if we really wanted to help the economy, we'd all send 100% of the rebate back to the government, saying "it's at least a start toward paying down that debt you built up on my part." Instead, we'll take our gub'ment check and use it to buy either useless things or things that our now-reduced paychecks wouldn't let us afford - gas for the Ford, food, pay down our credit cards. This won't "stimulate our economy," and if you think it will you may need to find some independent thought processes.

That said :P:

$200 - PSP
$200 - pay back girlfriend for leasing deposit
$200 - savings

If 360 fans hadn't bashed PS3 fans all last year because their console (read: an inanimate object, the development of which NONE of us had a part in before it released) for "inferior" ports then you wouldn't have to deal with this now.

What goes around comes around - eat your crow and enjoy your version. Even if it is technically inferior, you'll still enjoy the game - just like we PS3 fans did with all the great multiplats that came out last year. At least you didn't get the Orange Box treatment!

It's vicious circle. Obviously you weren't here when the 360 launched. Let's not act like the cows are innocent in all of this because you make yourself look really silly if you do. The cows deserved everything they have gotten over the past couple of years.

No, I wasn't here then. Not on System Wars, anyway. I was using the good message boards on this site - it's actually a decent community if you stay away from here.

Meanwhile, I'm lumped in with a bunch of people (over 10 million) who bought something, and somehow we ALL say and believe the same thing like some giant hive mind. Meanwhile, somebody up there is telling me that it's better to have a higher resolution than to actually, you know, look better.

Obviously this is not what gaming is about, but all I hear is "they did it first" and that's supposed to make it okay. I hope some of you are ashamed of yourself, but no, you're probably just mad at the other guy. Bah.

[QUOTE="g-rash"]I believe there's this game called GTA IV that might be a little bit good.goblaa

How is GTA4 a leap forward in physics or AI?

Why don't you read a review? Like IGN's review? The "another take" section guy summed it up - it's a game where it does what you expected it to do, and in doing so STILL manages to constantly amaze you.

So. IGN has reviewed it and gives the (admittedly by them) slight visual edge to the PS3. Says the framerate is more stable & the pop-in, if there is any, is less noticeable on the PS3. So the PS3 gets the visual edge.

Meanwhile, the 360 gets to boast its episodic content... although not until later in the year.

Logically, that means that neither side gets a coup de grace victory, and obviously it's a ten on either platform. Still, I can't shake the feeling that fanboys of all types are going to continue to argue ownage over both points for months. Meanwhile, to everyone with a brain - enjoy the game! I know I'm way more pumped for it now than I have been for a long time.

The motion control gives you another range of options for interacting with your game. Flow, Folklore, and some other games have made decent use of it.

I like it as much as the Wii's motion controls - ie. when tilt adds to a game rather than distracting me from it.

I've about had enough of it. Some of the games look amazing, but a solid in-house production engine with a unique look and feel is my preference.

I don't think the graphics are amazing, especially when you stand still and look around. However, once you see the thing in motion it's actually pretty slick.

This game seems to offer a ton of possibilities for combat and stealth, and I really like the link-up system. I also love that you can real-time switch your fire rate between burst, semi-auto, and automatic. I'd like more maps, but obviously it's just a beta. I could see myself getting into this when it comes out officially.

And to anyone playing this - get a headset! You can go to Buy.com and get a free bluetooth headset when you sign up for Google Checkout right now.
