@stereointegrity: So that's my point. Do you really think Sony will invest the huge amount needed to produce a console that does very little more than it already does now? The next consoles would play 4k 60fps instead of 4k 30fps as they can do now, with maybe an option for all games to play at 1080p 60fps. That's just not enough of a difference to convince 100 million ps4 owners to support it.

@stereointegrity: What kind of graphics are you looking at with those specs? Can't be above 4k surely. Better textures, yes and better framerates - but Pro plays some games at 4k 60fps already. Would you consider that as enough of a jump over what we already have?

I don't see any new consoles launching in 2020. Why would Sony? They are still making and selling so many Ps4s, that in 2020 they could conceivably have 100 million people on board. That's a lot of income through games, subscription fees and peripherals. How much more powerful can the next PS be? The next PS4 will concentrate on 4k 60fps locked on ultra details - that's still not a huge step from the quasi 4k currently available on the Pro - because there is no higher resolution commercial TV in sight for 2020, and 60 fps would be doable.
Xbox? Same issue - they already have a 4k 30fps (Or thereabouts) console out, what could they offer that would pull PS owners over, and convince Xbox owners to buy a console barely 2 years after the X1X cam out?
I actually think these may be the last two consoles that use GPU power to churn out graphics - they'll either make a different format ala Switch, or move towards streaming games.

About 90 percent MP. Cuphead, Ori and Fallout 4 were the only SP games I've played recently. Even SP campaigns in MP titles like COD ww2 bore me (Didn't finish it). Titanfall 2 was a brilliant campaign though, as was Portal 2. Pubg, BF1, BF4 and Rainbow 6 right now.

Day one purchase, along with a Sammy 4k TV. Nothing available in the PC market that offers me anything like what the One X can do unless I pay double, order the parts, assemble them, install Windows, wait for the updates and then deal with shoddy ports and countless cheats. Still I would end up with a noisier, bigger box that doesn't handle HDR anywhere near as well and I'd end up with the choice of connecting to my 4k tv and then struggling with the KB+M from the sofa, or using a joypad and getting owned by kb+m users - or even buying a smaller 4k monitor and encasing myself in the office upstairs. Not to mention there's games like Madden, NHL, Red Dead and more that aren't on PC. Oh, and it's so much easier creating squads, finding a club and matchmaking on Xbox (Did I mention the hackers/wallhacks/aimbots?)
