@shoodermcscree: No, a power source that lasts as little as 4 hours is not relatively less than one that lasts 30. Its dramatically less. You either have to charge them for an hour, or use fresh batteries. A ds4 needs to be charged 7-8 times before you need to change the batteries on the xbox.

Also, this isn't about ps vs xbox...its about battery packs/rechargeables/built in batteries vs single use.

No idea what batteries cost in the states, but where I live you get alkalines for about 50 cents, which works out at about 12 bucks a year....I can handle that.

@Utnayan: Do you really think a company - any company - whose sole purpose is to turn a profit would raise the price of a controller by only $1.34?

Think.

Even if it came with a battery pack, I wouldn't use it and I'd prefer AAs....they last longer, its safer and way easier.

@RealmRPGer: Great, so now I dont have a cable going into a console, I have a cable going in to the wall...and people say AAs are so last gen?

Cables need to made redundant. I haven't plugged a cable into my phone for 2 years, and my controller hasn't seen a cable since I tried a battery pack for my 360....and i packed that away after a couple of weeks and went back to trusty AAs.

@shoodermcscree: Why would you want ms to force people to pay more for a controller instead of giving people the choice to pay for the pack as an option?

@Utnayan: They can. Of course. But that will cost the same as now....buy a controller and if you want a rechargeable pack, you buy one. The way it is now, at least i have the choice.

@gifford38: AAs last 6 - 8 times longer than ds4s solution. Cant see a better solution out there....safer too.

@Utnayan: Including a battery pack would raise the price of the controller, and wouldn't give me the choice of using longer lasting AAs. I'm relieved MS hasn't gone down the "cable draping across the floor to recharge" road.

I think most people are looking at this thread.

@PurpleMan5000: Eh, poor analogy. I mean, plugging my ds4 into my console to charge it and have the kid trip over the cable kinda reminded me of 1999 more.
