I agree with the FFXIII games, they could just have made them all for the ps2/xbox, I will only buy the Playstation 1/2/3 FF's, unless i get another console but i wont get one especially for an ff game. I disagree with your comments on FFVII, I loved FFVII and i loved advent children and i cant wait for the next part.
I didnt really see a point to the sphere system, but that may be because i havent played on expert. I think materia was the best because of its simplicity. The junction system was fun and gave more complexity to the Summons.
They are making a remake but the person who said that also said it may not be started for 3-5 years. But it will net them alot of cash. Personnaly I think they're going over the top with FF games (I think they've got 6 or so on the go now)
I like squalls character more but im sure cloud would win. In FFVII he beats sephiroth, he was stabbed in the stomach by sephiroth and lived and he has one hell of a sword.
