The main argument against a 21st Century set AC by purists has always been that with today's technology, you can't avoid or dodge it.

Lol that's hilarious. If that were the case, Hitman and Splinter Cell wouldn't exist. I'm fairly new to AC as I just got into it with Origins, but a modern game would definitely work. Only modern stories we get are from the comics from Dark Horse. IT'S TIME FOR AN ACTUAL GAME! FOR THE BROTHERHOOD!

Here's at least two things I'm expecting if Ubisoft really wants to pull it off: 1) It should have the same feel of infiltration and badassery with the twist of tech like drones you can use to tag enemies and quests, like Senu the eagle, and 2) expand further lore-wise as far as what is going on with the corporation that is secretly acting as the Templars.

Who agrees? I think it's time. :)

I starting taking gaming seriously in my early teens. By that time I got a 360 and was blindly loyal to the latest Call of Dutys' that came out. But speaking beyond that series and more about the 7th gen....yeah gaming was going nowhere. Sorry to say it.

The only good games popped up practically once every two years. Beyond that it was macho shooters with fake so called "stories," I.e. Black Ops II....not that anyone cared for them anyway, but they dominated and made more money than the following titles I'm mentioning, and most people didn't care:

- Mirror's Edge

- God of War III

- Heavenly Sword

- Remember Me

- Borderlands

These all came out before studios saw more potential in open worlder RPGs. Care to critique anyone?

@Macutchi: Because they both deal with A.I. bent on killing humanity. Should've touched more on that so it wouldn't seem like a random comparison, sorry.

I bought the complete version of HZD today, and still know next to nothing about the main story. I just know the premise.

i'm anticipating being blown away from drifting an apocalyptic world where humans are gone and replaced by new ones who only took one millennia to evolve into tribe level civilization...lol.

It's still better in every point than dumbass Terminator, which has been on a major loosing streak for years since the mediocre bomb Salvation hit theaters....if not since forever. Even with the so called "good" movies like Judgement Day, its own premise of a robot apocalypse is always killed by that dog Dah Ahnold and his naked time travel antics in the beginnings (GROSS), uber-lame stereotypical macho action that only appeals to nine year olds who ask their parents for "okay" R rated movies....so on, so f**king forth.

HZD I am absolutely looking forward to loving and experiencing. Terminator could've been scrapped from movie history and HZD would still exist.

What are your thoughts?

@RSM-HQ: Deus Ex and System Shock? Nice :D

Mass Effect is technically cyberpunk....well, space opera with touches of cyberpunk. Don't worry I mean original trilogy not the abomination called Andromeda...silly mess of a game XD. Ryder felt nothing different from Shepard. And that's bad. :/

But as far as 2077, I just want to believe it's not a clone of Rage 2 based on what I've seen from one trailer. The one I saw was essentially V blowing bad guys to bits with a shotgun.....plus the details involving you sandbox driving.....*shrugs*

Meh, I s'pose it could be worse it looks good regardless. The real gameplay element that I want in 2077 is follower characters a la Fallout 4 or Skyrim. And the ability to talk to or romance them.

@warmblur: Remember Me, I've heard of that one.

What about Mirror's Edge? It qualifies.

Cyberpunk 2077 I won't be mentioning here...since it's a stereotypical bread and butter mash-up of everything you find in the genre at first thought.

I'm just hoping there'll be a new age where we see a staple of 21st century cyberpunk video games. (Quick note: most cyberpunk movies take place around this time in real life. Including Blade Runner).

I don't know the genre's okay...save for there being a lack of aliens. Robots make up for them. What do you think as far as the whole resurgence?

Not that much into the Lord of the Rings games....but the latest looks cool for the DLC where you play as a high elf or something. :/ Tolkien's been dead for a long time but I hope there's a legit title where you play as the aforementioned race in that series. Pointy ears and advanced eyesight? I'm sold.

PCSX2 is the PC emulator for PS2 games. All I need is an unzipped BIOS code, a free download and I'm set. :)

Any recs? By now y'all know I like non-lollypop fairy titles where you play as an alien, samurai, cop, etc. Basically serious character action sh*t.

Here's what I've already got my eyes on that are examples:

- Blade II: The Game

- Under The Skin (wild sci-fi game where you're an alien pulling pranks on blasted humans. Lol it's from Capcom, but my local store has the Japanese version only.)

- God Hand

- Soul Reaver 2

- AvP: Extinction

- Genji

- MK: Armageddon (I loove the Kreate-A-Fighter feature. Mortal Kombat needs something like it back for multiplayer. DESPERATELY. Cuz 11 is just gonna be another clone of 9 as far as the dumbass roster.)

- Metal Arms

- Nigthshade (AKA the badass female ninja game that no one knows about cuz the 2004 Ninja Gaiden reboot came out not long after. You rule, Hibana.)

Anything else from back when that are good time killers?
