I agree Jbul, everything up until Trevor feels like a tutorial in some respects. It is really good, but it gets amazing one the game starts to open up more.

Just did the first heist mission, and the first section involving Trevor. Big Spoiler:
That sucked to see Johnny Klebitz come to such an unfortunate end.
The game is phenomenal. I did a fair amount of screwing around today and the game is a blast. I absolutely love it so far.

My one real beef right now is how long it takes for a one star wanted level to go away. It isn't a huge deal, but it is kind of annoying.

They nailed the weather. I'm driving around in a thunderstorm and it is stunning.

Trying out the golf course right now. It isn't the greatest thing ever, but it is a fun enough diversion.

In the course of being a good boyfriend, I only played 3 hours yesterday. I'm fairly impressed. There are a few complaints here and there, but for the most part, I'm loving it. As I said earlier, the graphics are a mixed bag. During sunsets, nighttime and sunrises, the game is flat out gorgeous, but something about it during the day just looks off. I think the controls are mostly excellent, but I'm not crazy about some of the contextual things mapped to the d-pad. It is a little hard to keep it all straight and remember what button does what in the heat of the moment. I'm sure I'll get used to it and learn all of it, it is just a funny feeling to be 3 hours into a game and be fumbling around with the controls. The writing is a bit of a mixed bag for me too. For the most part, I think the writing is excellent. That being said, even though I'm a huge trashmouth, I felt like the game goes a bit too far in the f-bomb department. Not in the sense that it offends me, it just feels gratuitous after a certain point. All in all, I'm really loving the game though. Franklin and Michael are awesome. I suspect I'll get Trevor unlocked this afternoon when I get home. I love the little touches in this game. If I'm playing as Franklin and I drive a really nice car to Michael's house to start a mission, that car is parked on the street when I get back. I always hated leaving behind a good set of wheels in previous GTA games, because you knew it'd be gone as soon as you turned a corner. I love the weapon customization. I need to do the first heist so that I can get some more money to spend, because so far, I see a lot of stuff I want to buy. I'm very happy with the game, and I suspect the flaws will bother me less and less as I delve into it.

The daytime graphics are rough. This looks like a whole different game at night.

I'm installing now! Where the heck are your impressions?F1Lengend
I got my copy shipped to work, and I've been here all day. I don't get to go home and play it for another hour or so.

Do you want to hear how I am still kind of dissapointed that there doesn't seem to be much to do. Outside of missions and some of those "activities". Even the taxi missions which is the only surviving vehicle mission is wrong, there is no timer, there is no damage indicator, its not a race to see how many you can grab. You simply drive to a spot and you can take as long and be as crazy as you want. I dont want to spoil any story missions so I wont speak of them in detail but they are pretty amazing and I have yet to get into anything. Never played in a game world so detailed in my life, its insane. I am still feeling the game out, I am sure I will hit a groove soon.

That sucks that it isn't living up to your expectations. I thought the game had a lot of random events similar to RDR.

This thread is here to talk about the game, not the comment feed for the review of the game, or the moderation staff. Rest assured, we've deleted every comment we've seen that is bashing Carolyn for being transgendered. There is no double standard. What is happening is that you've got a few dozen moderators trying to control a comment feed that is completely out of control. In any case, complaints about mod staff belong in the Moderation Clarification forum, not in the GTAV official thread. That's my final word on it. There's no need to respond to it, or continue the discussion here.
