To be fair, I played both WoW and EverQuest (in '99), and given that the EverQuest: Anniversary Edition being released with 15 expansions for $20 tomorrow, you should easily notice how much in depth EverQuest goes in content. You can't go wrong with it. Everything you wished WoW had, you were just one MMO away. Yep, I'm going back to it and I am dying to get it tomorrow!!

I'm running Morrowind on Vista Home Premium on my new laptop (Toshiba Satellite). It runs great but there's occasional doors especially in Syda Neen (starting town) that has doors that flicker depending on your input. If you move, most likely it'll start to blink. Other than that, it runs great. I just don't understand!! Here's are my system details:

I am a student in computer science and entering an internship for game-related development. I mainly specialize in 3D graphics theory and programming either fully in software or hardware. The GBA is on the software side :)

The GBA is very amazing in a programmer's perspective. There is absolutely no OS at all. It's just me and the hardware registers. That's basically unheard of these days! It's an amazing platform to develop for in a programmer perspective. Even though you want it because of games, even us programmers want a new GBA successor, particularily a 64-bit GBA. Think of it, they had 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit, and Nintendo I am still waiting for 64-bit!

If you want to see a new GBA successor, contact Nintendo and let your voices be heard. Even us programmers demand 3d hardware manufacturers to produce drivers for APIs like OpenGL for Vista, and because we are large in number, those companies talked with Microsoft (who saw the demand too) and worked out three solutions to get OpenGL to work on the new Vista driver model. My point is get your voices heard. Contact Nintendo through email and tell them that you would like to see a new GBA successor. You, the consumers, are the ones in charge. The marketing team knows that, and all of Nintendo understands how their salaries/paychecks work. You are the one paying at the end...

The only way it's going to die is because of your lack of effort.

Just watch this video on someone's memories with Everquest. You aren't going to get that with modern MMOs. This game is a masterpeice that all MMOs branched off from, so it definitely is one to experience :) I highly recommend it.

Oblivion was fun in the beginning, but it got boring with all the walking etc. It just felt empty at the end and the regions felt all the same. But some people enjoy walking around doing hardly anything. I would say look into EverQuest - it was the first PC game I ever played in 1997 and it's still coming out with expansions. A lot of the casual folks left for World of Warcraft but both have good populations of people. One is more serious and the other is more entertaining for children and up. It actually made EverQuest a better game now that all the annoying people are out. All of them are great but it's up to you to experience what's fun. Truth is they all are but each have its ups and downs.

Most MMO people are kids, so its really just something he'll have to figure out for himself in what he can afford and what not.

Oh yeah, Vanguard, I forgot about that. It's another serious world to explore and made by the creators of the origional EverQuest. It's probably worth checking out.

It depends on what your tastes are. If you're a casual gamer, WoW is a good choice. If you want a serious, dark and political world to explore with lots of content, EverQuest. If you can't afford anything, perhaps Guild Wars or Runescape.

Does anyone know if the progression servers turns the graphics back to their classic textures? I have seen screenshots that seem to suggest this, but I have seen others too that seem to contradict them.
