I see you have lower-ish end system, but a GTX 550 Ti graphics card would do you a lot of good. It'll probably cost around $130 so you'll still have some spare change!

Yes, this is one of the better options as I already have a PC so I may as well upgrade it as best as possible

Hey all

I am trying to decide what to buy.

I have about $170 to spend and I can't decide between getting a new graphics card, harddrive, Nintendo Wii or a PSP. A graphics card would be the most viable option I rate, but, I really want more harddrive space too. In regards to the consoles, I miss console gaming and I have played on a Wii and it is a very good console in my opinion. The PSP is also something I have looked at, but, it is at the back of the list.

Any suggestions in helping me with this dibacle would be greatly appreciated.

Might be able to get medium settings. >http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html >Ctrl+F >Enter 1000M They only have two games benched for it, but by looking at they it says, you should manage medium. (Take note of the resolutions they use for each setting)C_Rule

I agree with C_Rule here. Resolution has to be noted when it comes to games, eg: One might play a game on 1920x1080 with medium settings, no AA etc and then switch to 1024x768 and then be able to run max settings, full AA etc.

Therefore to answer this question, you should be able to run it on medium and tweak a few things here and there depending on your chosen resolution

So basically I have a fairly old computer, so I doubt I will be able to play SW:TOR :(. I've played WoW but my girlfriend doesn't like it so I had to get rid of it or she was gonna leaving (intense I know). Could someone suggested some mmorpgs that I can play? Would like F2P but it doesn't have to be. Thanks in advance. :)

Try an MMORPG called RuneScape...Very addictive and enjoyable. Various elements to combat and skill training as well as special events and such. It is F2P ,but, there is also a members option

Helllo

I am planning to buy a laptop for gaming and I have found a good website (devitech.de) where I can buy it at good prices ( I live in Italy).

I would like to know which one of these video cards is better:

NVidia GeForce GTX 570M mit 3,0 GB GDDR5 Speicher und DirectX 11

Zwei GeForce GTX 560M Grafikkarten im SLI mit ins gesammt 3 GB

I have read on the web that gtx 570m is slightly better than 560, but in deviltech.de the 560M is more expensive than 570! i believe that this is due to the fact that 560m supports SLI, while 570m no.

Could you help me in this choice?

diegosened

Hey there!

I found this website which gives an indepth analysis of these 2 cards which could perhaps help you in your decision

GTX 560M

GTX570M

Thanks for the responses. I built this pc back in 2007 and haven't brushed up on my hardware knowledge since. If I replace my mobo, will everything be fixed or will I have to do something else? Can I salvage the rest of my PC? Could you also suggest a mobo?

Here are my main specs:

Q6600

Nvidia 8800 GTS (i think or a similar model)

4GB RAM (i think DDR2)

Asus P5K mobo

I have been planning on upgrading my video card anyways. Could you guys give me some suggestions on this as well? I want one that will work with the setup I have. I'm not looking to get the newest or best one available...just the best for the setup I have.

cmpepper23

Hey there...It

You could get this motherboard perhaps

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4008499&CatId=1572

or this

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-G31TM-P21-Intel-Micro-Motherboard/dp/B002HKHP5Y/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_0_0

(My board is very similar to this second option, details in my sig)

In terms of a video card for your setup..perhaps this

Here is a custom mod that allows you to set D2 to any resolution that your monitor supports. The only downside is that it inhibits online play.
