So i'm playing Diablo 2 again (Lod), on my new laptop thats a widescreen in native 1920x1080. When i'm playing d2, it runs at its maximum res -800x600, but its as if its keeping my screen in the full resolution and only using a block of 800x600 in the middle of the screen. Can i get it to just stretch to fit? It would do that on my old computer with a 1280x1024 monitor.

There should be an option in your GPUs Control panel that lets' you control the aspect ratio... You're going to want to use "Keep (or Maintain) Aspect Ratio". What this will do is it'll fill the screen but put black bars on the sides only to make the game look normal square-ish instead of covering fullscreen with stretches or just covering a small portion in the center of the screen.

Here is a custom mod that allows you to set D2 to any resolution that your monitor supports. The only downside is that it inhibits online play.

i found a fix to res problem with no mode....... now go to ur d2 short cut then right click and got to properties, the in the target line make sure it says this in that spot... "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w -nofixaspect then hit apply.. the run game and when game loads hit the maximized button and thenu have full screen :) injoy work on 1.13

That's probably a setting with your graphics card, something for automatic aspect-ratio scaling or something like that.

Even Intel based graphics usually have some way to force streatching.
