[QUOTE="Heil68"]Isn't it up to the consumer to decide how to spend their money?kcpp2b

Isn't this because they don't want big games that will be impossible for a core owner to download them. And a core owner most likely will get a 512 MB card if they wanna use XBL just to play online and not download big demos but XBLA

Core owners make up about 5% of the 360 population. yes microsoft must be thinking of making money through their smallest area of consumers that would make sense huh

It is up to the consumer on how they want to spend the money. Im just bringing to light one of the features of the service that you are paying for. Because we all know you have to pay to play online on 360 even though there are no dedicated servers to play on lol

http://www.n4g.com/xbox360/News-58950.aspx

Here is an interesting article on how even though you pay 50 dollars a year for Xbox live service, Microsoft decides profit is the most important thing to them and limits the size of Xbox Live Arcade games to 150mb.

But they don't openly say it's for their profit, they say its to "let the game companies focus on innovation".

But the real truth isprobably thefollowing...

Microsoft doesn't want larger games to enter the market place and make customers expect more quantity/quality for the same price as what they have been paying.(which would force smaller games to be cheaper)

If you honestly believe Microsoft then i suggest the next thing you do is give Microsoft your credit card and ask them to make your financial decisions for you. and if you don't think microsoft is trying to get as much money as possible from you try googling articles on why bonus content from Gears of War costs money when the developers planned on it being free.

Just think of it this way. If 10% off isn't a big deal to you. Then why is everyone complaining about the price.

50 dollars can buy you a game with the system for those who thought they could only afford the system but no games. I have read lots of threads on people who save up just enough for the system and then have to wait for a game.

This whole thread was posted for those people who do like to save money when they can. Not watching thousands and thousands of game trailers for a whole year just to get a ps3.

  1. Go to Target
  2. Register for a baby shower that will be a week later (wedding registry might work too)
  3. Go scan items and include PS3 in your scan.
  4. Wait till after the fake baby shower (or fake wedding if it works)
  5. Target gives a special deal, any items that weren't purchased for you will be 10% off for 90 days after the baby shower (and possibly the wedding)
  6. Purchase the ps3 for 10% off at $450 dollars.

You now have a Ps3 for $450 dollars. I know the baby shower registry will give you 10% off for 90days after the shower but im not sure about wedding registries if they offer 10% off after the wedding or not.

=)

i've been playing games 10 years now and i've come to notice that the most realistic games get the more difficult to enjoy some are becoming. racing games are not very fun anymore because you are constantly breaking and trying to turn corners. back in the day racing games were so much fun because they didn't require a lot of skill. also baseball games have about 50 different functions to learn. back when i was young it was like 5. i don't know maybe i'm the only one but besides shooting games i feel other games take too much time just to learn controls and figure out how to even play right.Friendlyfire53

So, is football, soccer, baseball, and other sports not fun either because they are competitive? Maybe everyone should be a winner
