Ok for me as a PC gamer this is depressing.

Company 1: RazorWorks

They made the excellent Enemy Engaged helicopter combat sim in 2000. So good its stil played today and until blackshark comes out the best combat heli sim out there.

Now days they make Speedball 2 Brutal Deluxe, Ford Street Racing. Not exactly the best games.

Company 2: volition

They made descent and the brilliant space sim FreeSpace 2. Again Freespace 2 is still been played, and as the source code was released loads of free space sims have been developed, including one for battlestar galactica and a babylon 5 one.

Not that bad, they made the Punisher and Saints Row. Again far from their glory days.

Company 3: Shiny

Man these guys were great they made sacrifice, messiah and mdk

then it went wrong, they made the god awful Matrix games and their last game was the Golden Compass. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

As a PC gamer all i see are once great PC developers move to the consoles and turn s&*t.

Makes you appreciate Valve, Blizzard, bioware, rockstar, companies that are still making great games.

crozon

I thought the port of red faction 1 on ps2 was excellent. red faction 2 was poor, but 1 was great!

i need a straight forward answer with proof... is the leveling up system based on luck?? i'm hearing two different things:

1) it's based on luck, you can level up really fast if you just happen to get many 777's

2) it's got an invisible exp counter that levels you up as you progress, making it seem like it's all by chance.

I've tried to test this by letting the first Shinra EPC mission run indefinitely and i've been able to level up a couple times, but i'm still not sure if this is the case because if it is, i'll let this game run while i'm in this mission for hours because i cant be killed. any ideas??

mrpear

1 is right.

I have friends in the real world.

:o

You don't say?

Don't use it as an argument.

Your "friend" =/= "the whole community".

:) k?

Are you saying that my friend is the only person that likes halo?

Or are you having a go at me for saying that halo fanboys will come up with all sorts of junk about how great master chief is?

[QUOTE="oldvander"]The thing with master chief is that halo fanboys say he's the "best fictional character of all time"._en1gma_

Who has ever said that?

Are we just making things up now?

Nope, a friend of mine reckons master chief is better than many movie/game characters including- Darth maul, solid snake, jack sparrow, aragorn etc!

So by "Halo community" you mean "a friend of mine".

Ok. Let's note that next time. :)

I have friends in the real world.

[QUOTE="oldvander"]The thing with master chief is that halo fanboys say he's the "best fictional character of all time". It winds me up, he comes nowhere near the best movie characters or book characters. He's only a big character because of the success of halo. The actual character itself is bland and boring.II-FBIsniper-II

I can honestly say I've never heard anyone but the dumbest of fanboys say that, and there are people like that for every game out there not just Halo.

Its embarrasing that i seem to enjoy games that have the most rabid fanboys. FF7 and Halo for starters! I like a game for what it is, but i dont go over the top saying every aspect of it beats every other media etc.

Once again, who has ever said anything like that?

read my last post. There are huge halo fanboys that dont use gamespot. Offline halo fans are as bad if not worse than online ones.

I honestly cannot see how the novels were fantastic, they were like..written by a 12 year old in order to teach 6 year olds how to read :|

You can stop now. You're fanboyism and hate towards Halo is starting to show. Just because you didn't like them doesn't mean that everyone else didn't.

I liked them. Got like 700/100 achievements on it, rank 38 lonewolves. The core gameplay is good and online is good, storyline terrible.

My thoughts Exactly.
