Too bad, COD:WW2 was pretty amazing, would be interested to see what they wanted to do next.

@gamingdevil800: I was kind of hoping they'd spin off the BR mode into a separate GaaS, adding content as new mainline CODs release.

But Activision-Blizzard loves dividing audiences?

@shadowwarrior4: MW4 is a safe bet, although I'd be fine with any of them. The setting doesn't really matter, I just want new maps, mostly.

@j3diknightdave: The last two haven't been "future", although BLOPS was always a bit more advanced. So they've been done with that for a while now.

Personally, I think IW and BLOPS3 were pretty amazing, but I was really into WW2 and am enjoying BLOPS4. I've found I don't really care about the setting, gameplay usually delivers regardless.

@blueinheaven: Yeah you couldn' be more wrong. Paladins is a pretty great game and many, many people play it across all platforms.

@thelostscribe: I think it helps that COD is part of the most popular genre of games (multiplayer) FPS, rather than niche (THPS) or even fad genres (Guitar Hero).

@thelostscribe: BLOPS4 outsold RDR2 by year's end in the US at least (NPDs). RDR2 only beat BLOPS4 in November, not overtaking it overall. A bit weird talking about those two games in 2018 as they only released in October, but still managed to top the charts for the year.

In any case, the idea that COD is somehow dead or dying is laughable.

@speed45823: You've missed out. There's been quite a few better entries into the series since.

@Freezezzy: BLOPS4 is on track to be the best selling game (again), so talking of "dying off" shows how completely out of touch you are O.o
