I'm kinda surprised at how little to no coverage the Vive and Rift got/are getting. These two devices are supposed to be massive powerhouses for VR, yet if you told me they didn't exist I'd believe you. Oddly enough it sounds like most people are excited for Sony's VR solution. I just thought that by now VR would be everywhere in the news. It's most likely due to zero serious actual games and a flood of 5 minute "experiences".
Sean Murray just doesn't want you to know that. Just like way he strung us along for years with VR, saying "it would be perfect, it makes total sense (wink wink), only to have no VR support, he simply has a habit of not telling the consumer the truth. This is what pisses me off about Murray.
He just won't spit it out and say that each person who plays the game will have to have some form of Internet connection to upload and save the planets, animals, etc they find--but that's it. You don't need PS Plus because there is no true multiplayer. There never was a chance of running into someone out there, not because the game is so vast, but because it was never implemented in the first place, and Murray would rather have us believe it exists in the game, like VR support, than know the truth that it doesn't and never did, impeding our decision to purchase his game.
I used to be the utmost booster of this game. But since 2014, I have seen Murray constantly not tell people the damn simple truth. Just tell us there's no VR, there's no multiplayer, and be done with it. But he won't. He will keep not denying things he knows aren't in his game, continuing to string us along with false hopes of a game that, now, has been consumed and crushed under its own hype's weight.
Sorry I had to be the person to say this. Someone had to since Sean won't. Expect an ultra-basic pew-pew shooter, exploring a mostly lifeless, quiet, single-player only world. Anything more you hope for and you're going to be thoroughly disappointed.
The question for the future, now with all these upcoming midlife consoles, is why should anyone bother buying this or a ps4? You'd be stupid to buy a console now, when it wouldn't be stupid before.
That's what's so dumb about incremental hardware: people don't want new consoles every year, even if they can afford it. I can afford a Scorpio and a neo right now, but why should I even buy them when I know the PS5 will smoke the neo when it comes out a year after neo releases.
Damn I would play TW3 soooo much more if it were 1st person. Seriously. I always liked Bethesda doing both perspectives like skyrim and fallout. Make it happen on consoles please! GTA did it.
