I hate the new subscription model Adobe has. So much nicer when it was the good old "buy your software" format.

What's to hate?

The first Adobe software I purchased was Photoshop CS5 and a few short months later i upgraded to CS6 to get Retina support. These were not cheap, so I'm quite happy to pay $15 a month for access to the very latest. Having access to the entire suite is how I also got in to Illustrator, which I now use instead of Photoshop.

@36Chambers93: Have you considered Adobe CC? I'm subscribed to the Teacher Edition for $15 per month (usually $50), but I believe the same is available to students. I only use it for Illustrator (vector graphics in science publications), but you also get desktop versions of the entire suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Acrobat Pro. You can install the programs on two computers. I have it on the Mac at work and PC at home.

As for the Mac vs PC debate, I actually find it runs more efficiently on the Mac, but it is a slightly beefier machine. You should keep in mind that if your entire class and teacher are using Mac, you may put yourself at a disadvantage by choosing PC. Almost the entire physics department here use Macs and it makes tech support, software assistance and collaboration that much more easier.

I recently auctioned off a stack of old tech lying around my house (laptop, tablets, kindle, mobiles, etc) and decided to spoil myself :)

Not long now. Who's expecting to pick up their Xbox One and/or PS4 in the next couple of weeks?

I'm pretty excited, but I've also got a new PC being built and shipped around the same time. The consoles may end up collecting dust in their boxes for a week or two.

I have also asked the same question. I've been using these forums for a long time now and I really don't see the issue with the new ones. I'd like to know what issue everybody else has with it.

The loss of AU Discussion and the other regional forums is an issue for me. As an old regular, I'm surprised this isn't for you.

Grid 2, Guacamelee!, Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories, Sonic All Star Racers Transformed, Contrast and Resogun are all the games for PSPlus next month. Not bad I think. Guacamelee! is great - my personal game of the year.

Contrast looks fantastic. I pre-ordered it on Steam, so I'm a little annoyed I'll be getting it for free on PS4 soon as well. However, the pre-order came with some nice bonuses, including the soundtrack and an awesome art book.

Got myself a new artist at C117 Games named Jon Snow of all things... well... Jonathan Snow but even still it's a cool name. We just have to all hold back the temptation to tell him he knows nothing and I'll have to consider workplace shenanigans if I ever hire a redhead... anyway...

for those who played Nick's Quest you may remember King Nick was based on Nickosaurus-Rex from here. All the dialogue resulted from back and forth chats between us on messenger etc. In HIVE: Not by Design he's been busted back to Duke for sending you on a stupid quest in the first game and for other reasons of general stupidity and perversion. Here's a screengrab of when you first meet him. He's hiding in a bush looking thru the bathroom window of a vacant house (see? Perverted AND stupid).

Anyway what do you think? Like him? The background isn't finalised yet obviously and the style will match that vid I posted earlier. But I couldn't help sharing this pic as I think Jon captured the essence of Nick perfectly!

Why are you hiding behind him?

@mjc: Hmmm i never got a message from you. Funny enough i logged off for 10 minutes before jumping back on to see if you were online and you werent so i went back off after 20 minutes, that must have been when you went back to play batman.. we just never bumped into each other.

I sent it through the website, it's still sitting in the chatbox. Perhaps it also got sent in Swedish and you wasn't sure what it was!

@Chickan_117: The wallpaper on your second monitor looks a little boring.

My wallpaper is star stuff.
