@ipsofact0: Physical doesn't mean forever either. Your Xbox and those discs have a limited lifespan. I can always build a new PC and download my games again. You can't.
Edit: And the fact remains, Alan Wake being removed from stores has nothing to do with digital rights. It's music licensing. Physical production would cease as well, if it hadn't years ago. So this isn't the place to have your physical vs. digital debate. If you want to dig deeper into the ethical dilemma of buying used copies, especially after something like this, then feel free. That is at least pertinent to the article.
Don't understand why people are turning this into a digital vs. physical thing. If you bought it (or buy it right now) digitally, you can still play it forever. No one is taking it from you. It's no different than physical. Except they aren't making disc versions anymore. If they were, this announcement would include physical copies are ending production. But that happened years ago. So your "physical is better" argument is moot. Spend $3, save the plastic, save the planet, play it forever, and shut up.
@sealionact: That wasn't the title 23 days ago. It's been updated since then. Previously this article was about an affordable way to get high end graphics. Now they're being more honest that it's simply masturbation.
Edit: Yet they still call this a "reasonable" build. *Eye roll*
Crackdown, Forza Horizon, Quantum Break, State of Decay, etc. are all second-party. First-party is pretty much just Halo, Gears, and Forza (Motorsport, not Horizon). That's it.
No, no, no, GameSpot. What the hell is this? $180 case, $120 for a cooler, and nearly $500 on hard drives?
Sure, if you want to build a Ferrari of PC's, you can, but if you're trying to show people the cheapest way to get 4K/max settings, you've missed the mark completely.
$120 on a case? Why? Get rid of the fluff, and this could easily be done for much less money. And I agree with the others that this isn't mid-range. Not top-tier either, but definitely high-end. As you say yourself...
"Our mid-range gaming PC is tailored around delivering a high-end experience that will be able to max out most games at 1440p."
@HalcyonScarlet: Out of 3 (or 4?) Seagate drives I've owned, none of them lasted two years. Not one. Meanwhile, my 8-year-old PC and its two 250GB WD HDD's are still going strong. As are my three 1TB WD HDD's that are a couple years old now. Western Digital all the way!
