@doctor_mg: Yes. When scanning an enemy, their level is in the upper left. All enemies of that type are the same level. Their health and defense never change, so the idea that they are more difficult as you progress is absurd. You're dealing with different versions of that enemy, or different enemies altogether. The same enemies do not "suddenly become stronger." Only new enemies are stronger, and their level is shown.
Language and dialect inconsistencies are going to come up in literally every game that deals with a fictional language, place, or time period - and is made by (and for) humans in the 21st century. You're not wrong, but it's knit-picky at best to say the game is totally overrated and not great because the main character in a work of fiction used a present-day phrase. Besides, we still use words and phrases that are centuries old, why can't they? Plus Aloy had more exposure to the old world since she was a child because of her Focus.
Most games have progressive difficulty. What game doesn't have you doing essentially the same thing throughout? I'm not saying you have to like the game. That's your right. But if I think your reasons are untrue, inconsistent, or petty beyond rational belief, then I have a right to say so.
It's a fun game that's different enough from everything else to stand out as one of the best (but not the best) games of the year (but not all time).
@doctor_mg: That's mostly what he complained about, and the rest was largely untrue. There are visible levels on enemies. You aren't fighting the same enemies the whole time. Only corrupt versions of earlier enemies are stronger. There are other weapons, as well as alternate methods of combat. So... you agree the map was confusing?
@rglgathrawn: Echoing what others have said: you obviously didn't play it. Plus you admitted a pre-determined bias against it because of the developer.
There are visible levels on enemies. You aren't fighting the same enemies the whole time. Bows and arrows aren't your only weapons. And if you find the story that confusing, you are a dimwit.
@huyi12: They typically have two games per system each month. They haven't offered less than that, they're offering more. Neither That's You nor Until Dawn are "taking up a slot."
@analgrin: I'll admit, I was unaware of her international impact (or lack thereof). She was such a constant annoyance here that it's hard to tell how far her prominence reached.
@locke90: I know it's the same person, but it's still a different character. They own the Miss Cleo character, not her voice, or fake accent. Many legit actors get pigeonholed into playing the same type of character in everything. Fake Jamaican was her shtick. Just because she played one doesn't mean she couldn't play another.
@khanwashere: "being generous with paid subscribers."
For $5 a month (with a $60 year's subscription) you get 6 games every month. That's less than a buck each. That's 72 games per year. 72 games for $60. Yet people still bitch and whine and moan. Sure, I'd love to get 6, recently released triple-A, $60 games for $5 a month. But what makes anyone think they deserve that? Because you bought one less Big Mac that month? Wanting more is fine, expecting more is for self-entitled pricks.
