I prefer it this way.
Scenario 1: "Hey, here's all the info on this game we've been making and the best news is that you'll be able to buy it in a month!"
Scenario 2: "Hey, here's the name of a game we're making at the moment. We can't tell you anything about it now because it won't be finished for 3 years but we'll drip feed you info on it over that time so you can get super hyped over it until the reviews come out........in 3 years time."
I know which one I'd choose.

Good point.
Does anyone else think that it wil sell so poorly in Japan.
This is GameSpot guys, c'mon it doesnt matter what other sites said, as much as i like TP is a flop here.
But my vote goes for Spore, as everybody is saying, it suppose to be the next 9.5 or 10, and a GOTY contender, and it turn out in a very good game.
Mmmmmmmmmmm, where is my none option.
For me FF IX was the last worth traditional FF, besides i never play to much JRPG, they consume a lot of time and with Eternal Sonata on PS3 and ToS on Wii, i have more than enough JRPGs this gen.
Online game over single player experience, it is a joke when a game only have 6 hours of single player campaign and they compensate with multiplayer features, thats lazy.
Too much hype for big games that sales millions on the first week and then they are forget because the next big one is around the corner (although you know its at least 6 months away)
Graphics = Great game in some buyers and devs eyes.
Too expensive.
Lack of creativity
Lack of fighters.
But of course, there are still tons of great things this gen.
