I really feel that after looking through this forum that the 360 is not intended for kids. The excuses as to why you shouldn't have to pay 50 bucks a year ($.13 a day) for a quality online service are just naive and childish. Ok, so you have to pay for LIVE on top of the cost of a game and any added content you want to ad later on. SO WHAT! THAT IS LIFE! You are not going to get much for free KIDS! Sooner or later you are going to have to realize that almost everything you have is manufactured by a business that is, OH MY GOD, LOOKING TO MAKE MONEY OFF YOU! The SHAME! They must be bastards or whatever other name you kids want to throw at them. They are not greedy, they are trying to run a successful business. You know why you don't see business giving stuff away for free 24/7? BECAUSE THEY DON"T EXIST! What does exist is the reality that you cannot afford a 360 and it's services. If 50 dollars a year is making you wet your diapers like this than sell the thing and get your priorities straight. OH and LAG? That is your connection/provider not LIVE. Better get Mommy and Daddy to upgrade so you can be bad and swear with the big kids.

Actually I get an e-mail 30 days prior to the service running out - it's similar to other subscription services - "We'll charge you unless you cancel"

well its kinda a waste because suppose you get xbl and you leave for like 3 months and you dont use xbl at all, and you paid for it, WTF is up with that... you are paying for something that you dont use... there is not pausing it or anything... as long as they are getting there money they dont give a crap what happens.. because they know that the person will go and get a nother year subscription that is really just being greedy considering that all the downloads that are worth anything has to be paid for seperately they could at least let you have a limited amount of free downloads, or downloadable content.. that is just bs

and if you have a like 2 1 year subscriptions paid for, and you have it on your console... xbl will automatically renew it when your 1st one is over and just let you know that they ALREADY renewed it.. they give you a warning, but hey you did not say "yes go head and renew it.... they just really wanted that 50 bucks

If you are going to be leaving for three months than get a smaller subscription and save a little cash. PLAN AHEAD. It isn't MS's responsibility to plan LIVE around your life. I don't watch TV 24 hours a day, yet I pay for 24 hour service. Same with internet. I don't talk on my cell phone enough to max it out every month, but I still pay it. You guys need to understand LIVE is a SERVICE, not a RIGHT. You pay a small fee every year because a SERVICE ISN'T FREE! Wait till you kids have to pay taxes!

Serious? This is a joke. If you are going to complain about 50 dollars a year for Live what are you kiddies gonna do in the real world? 50 bucks a year is NOTHING! How much do your parents pay for the internet access every month? How much was your parents HDTV? How much do they spend on food every week for you? Do you even know!?! Some of you whiners need a reality check and if you hate paying for a service so much DON'T and leave those of us who see the inherent value vs cost of live in peace. If you want to play online, but can't scrape together 50 dollars in a year to finance it, SELL YOUR X-BOX AN GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT OR GET A JOB!

do you guys have your 360's plugged into power bars?

when i had mine like that, i got a scratch on a disk like that. Since I;ve moved it to the wall on its own, i;ve never had a problem, apparenty it prevents the 360 from getting full power, and when any drive does not have full power, the drive spins slower, causing the disk to wobble, and scratch. It even says not to use a power bar in the manual.

Agreed. I had the same situation and changed to a wall outlet. Never happened again in the past 10 months.

Just a quick note about damage for those of you who are upset you cant obliterate the car. When Turn 10 licenses a car for the game, it is worked into the agreement that only a certain amount of damage with be rendered to the digital reproduction. The manufacturer does not want the real car to seem dangerous. IT is kind of silly, but that is why games with licensed cars never let you completely destroy and roll them. Games with made up vehicles like GTA, Burnout, and Motorstorm allow you to completely destroy them.

I respect your decision and appreciation of the game despite that it is not your taste. Most people would just say the Demo sucks, the game sucks, I suck, and so on. Do me a favor though. Once it comes out give it a rent and give the customization a spin if you have never played Forza 1. I used to feel the same way you do, but once I tried Forza 1 all that changed. The sheer amount of options is impressive and if you spend a little time working on your car, you can give it that arcade feel.

one question:

does the damage effect how you drive in the real game, because it didn't in the demo?

jahnee
Yes it will. In numerous ways. I didn't get to far into the demo yet because I had to get to work, but is there a way to set the damage effects in the beginning of the race? If not then you can expect the damage to hinder your car a lot in the release.

The demo is AWESOME imo. It is everything I wanted it to be in a D E M O. The fully optimized game will be awesome. Bye bye PGR3.
