Even in 2013, everyone knew that the new PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles weren’t really a match for PC gaming. Those consoles came with an underpowered and outdated AMD CPU that would go on to limit what was possible throughout the entire generation. But in 2020, it’s more difficult to tell how the consoles will stack up against modern PCs. Nvidia, however, made it clear today that it’s not gonna let Sony and Microsoft leave it behind thanks to the new RTX 3000-series GPUs it officially revealed this morning. And as of today, I’m more excited for the Nvidia RTX 3080 than either the Xbox Series X or the PlayStation 5.

But what really makes it a must buy is playing it in combination with xCloud. Microsoft's service makes Stadia look like one of Google's April Fools' Day jokes. xCloud works exactly the way you imagine game streaming to work and, in combination with Microsoft's robust Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, is functionally the "Netflix of gaming" that we have long fantasized about. It changes everything about the experience of picking up and playing a game — and it's why Xbox is going to win.

According to leaked details, the GeForce RTX 3090 will feature the GA102-300-A1 GPU. The GA102-300-A1 GPU is said to be comprised of 5248 CUDA cores or 82 SMs. In total, that's a 20% increase in cores over the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. No details such as clock speeds, TMU/ROP counts are provided and we can't take the Ampere A100 die as a reference since gaming & HPC parts share a different configuration hierarchy.

The leaker has also mentioned a price of $1400 US for the Founders Edition graphics card which is close to the rumors we heard last week.

After the first official teaser of its next-generation GeForce RTX gaming graphics cards yesterday, NVIDIA has announced that it will be hosting a special GeForce Event on 1st September. NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, will host the special GeForce event which will be delivered in a digital and pre-recorded format, similar to the GTC 2020 Digital keynote.

During a video interview with Geoff Keighley on Monday, art director Yoji Shinkawa was asked how the studio was able to improve on the game’s PS4 release last year for the upcoming PC version.

“So compared to the previous one, I could kind of say that you’re kind of watching a TV drama in the previous game, but this time in the PC version it’s more you get the impression that you’re watching a movie at the cinema.”
