Mr__Fantasy

You can get FFVI on GBA if you have one. There's supposedly going to be a remake of FFVI on 3DS.So try that one when it comes out.

I'd like to see some remakes of their games - for the CONSOLES, not the DS so much. I would like for them to optimize, update, and in some cases make whole new stories based on the particular game series - not so much just rehash the same old games.magusat999

Console production is very costly especially with the CGI and detailed graphics Square Enix loves producing. So remaking an older game would be a very risky prospect unless that game has got a huge fan-following. Which is probably why from all of their games, a FFVII console remake looks the most likely to happen at some point in the future.

Hey,welcome to the union Judgemaster. I agree that the union is going through some really slow times right now but I hope it gets back up brimming with activity soon.

I enjoyed FFXIII. I think it is a rare example in the series where the developers have for once designed a game that sticks to it's strengths and doesn't submit to the whimsical needs of gamers with short attention spans (read minigames). It is the game where SE has gone and said to all of it's fans, "This is the game how WE want it to be and whether you like it or not is upto you". This has done a great deal of benefit to FFXIII. For once, the narrative doesn't have to be interrupted by silly minigames or unnecessary sidequests or other distractions and remains focused for most parts.

Another big positive I found in FFXIII is it's battle system which IMO is essentially the best ATB-oriented battle system we've seen in the series. It's everything FFIX's battle system should have been IMO. Fast, fluid with adequate amount of strategic thinking to succeed.

I found the story was pretty well-told for most parts. Of course, Square Enix aren't the best writers around and you still have the occasionally cheesy dialogues springing up in serious situations which make you go facepalm. Other than that the main plot and it's narration were pretty good. The characters were mostly likeable by the end and some of them grew on you more than others. The likes of Fang,Lightning,Hope are my favourites. I like Sazh when he's not trying to be funny as it makes him look like an oversized kid. Vanille grew on me eventually but unfortunately Snow remained as annoying in the end atleast for me as he was in the beginning.

Overall a great game that is doesn't deserve all the criticism aimed at it. Probably the third FF in the series for me after FFVIII,FFVI and possibly tied with FFVII and FFIV. :)

Welcome to the union,Dani!! Glad to see you here. I am sure that with Final Fantasy series already as a common interest between you and everyone else in the union, you'll have no problems in blending in. ;)

While Kinect-specific games might be fun and entertaining, I still believe that motion control without buttons is incredibly hard to design and implement in a proper, useful way in games. Plus Kinect is priced at a very high price which would generally turn many people away.

I don't follow the Redemption comics but hopefully there will be something related to Illusive Man's past in the Retribution novel which I do follow. :P

I think story-wise,ME2 was at a disadvantage since it went for a "character-centric" progression where your interaction and connection with characters took precedence over anything else. In ME2 while the galaxy was still at risk, the game focused on how every one of your squad mates' lives were at risk too. In that sense,ME2 did bring something new to the series but overall,ME1 had a stronger plot.

Overall,ME1 and ME2 were pretty much the same for me.I gave both of them the same score --9.0/10 too. :P

ME1 had it's own strengths and ME2 had it's own. Some of those strengths were common (NPCs,writing) while some of them were exclusive for each other. ME1 was better when it came to story,RPG elements, exploration(planetary exploration beats repetitive mining anyday) whereas ME2 was better due to it's better combat,NPCs(better written, more depth in ME2)

Interesting.Although it probably seems to be a "low-scale" project so chances are it might be for one of the handhelds possibly.
