@mario-nin-freak I do a lot of game modding, And I know that doing the 3d modeling is the easy part, the part that takes the time is the textures, and with todays gen consoles low polly modles have to be fleshed out using textures which is a pain, but with more powerful machines you can have higer polly models which are more model than texture and actually easier and faster to make except for the unwrapping part which is always a nightmare.
but what will happen is this, it will be much easier to make a game look the way they do now with higher level consoles, but people will want the games to be much better to warrant the cost of buying the new hardware, people will expect more in all fields which means more content bigger games not just better looking ones.
it all tends to balance out in the end, but in the early days before you have the engines built and the stockpile of generic resources to pick from it can look very daunting for a dev.
@mario-nin-freak The cost of a PC does not come into the equation as we are talking about development costs which effect the cost of a game, not hardware costs which effect the cost of a system, generally the PC games that do not look all that much better than the console versions are made for consoles and ported to PC, but even then the extra power of the PC tends to let them have better graphics by being able to better use the software tools such as tessellation without compromising framerate.
