@reilly303 when i was on the forums any mention of fixing the controls was jumped on by some kind of strange fanboys who were determined to defend the current scheme as being somehow intellectual, i got sick of it and stopped posting, i am sure many more people like me did the same. It would not be the first time bias fan feedback killed a game, which is a shame for the devs if they were simply trying to keep the wrong people happy, what really annoys me is that if this game fails then the concept of contemporary RPGs will suffer possibly fatally, which will be a tragedy. This game is a testbed the finance people will look at this game as a proof of concept, if it does well there will be more money for similar games, if it does not the whole thing will get blackballed.

@GrahamZ but the social experience is one of the big let downs of this game, of which there are many.

one of the big reasons i play MMOs is to engage with my friends from abroad

All of the quests have a single player feel to them, and having so many players running around just takes away from the supposed atmosphere, you are either in an area with more players than bots competing to get those kills or you are in an area where there is nothing happening and you feel no sense of danger which you would if the lor was actually represented in an accurate way, or you end up stranded in some area swarmed to death having to run back to your corps only to die again as you are in the same place surrounded by the same foes and repeat in frustration.

Sorry forgot to add, the puzzle quest were good but that does not make up for the failings, especially where it comes to group play, which is what MMOs are all about.

I was also a beta tester, and non of the issues i had were being addressed, until the controls are fixed which they will not be based on dev feedback, the game is simply not worth playing, and that is just the start of the problems, the intellectual puzzles and novel setting which were the only two things that actually worked in its favor, just do not make up for the general lack of engagement and overall shoddy design, I have not given up on a game like this with such disappointment for a very very long time.

I played all the betas so far and have uninstalled the game, I can not see them fixing the terrible clunky controls, all I hear is that it is not an action RPG, as if that makes up for it, It has the most uninvolved, messy, frustrating scheme for any RPG i have played in the last 10 years of all types, and there is no atmosphere in this game which is supposed to be its big selling point.

the only good thing in game is the look of the clothes, the rest of the character designer is cheep and shoddy with few real options.

My self and my friends and my GF all put a lot of effort into getting into the the betas, we got really involved with the meta game, i added about 2000 templar contacts to a facebook page I opened just for this game, we were all bitterly disappointed by what we ended up playing, and it only got worse as more people entered as people were hogging kills which you needed to progress, you could spend an hour trying to get the kills you needed to do one part of a mission because either there were too many people wiping out the mobs and bosses before you could or some idiot on a higher level was just killing everything in the area as soon as it spawned.

This game is not a patch on "age of conan" which is another funcom title, how could they get it so wrong.

I found this to be lecturesome and preachy, as well as wrong, most FPS games have no superpowers, most RTS games have no super powers, most survival-horror games also. Adventure games and platformers need some way to explain the ability of the protagonist to do what others cannot, for if anyone could do it it would already have been done, everyman characters are very limiting in this regard, if the devs want a believable plot line
