I actually think loot boxes and other things you pay for are fine in free-to-play games since they need to make money somehow, but in titles you already pay full price for, definitely not.
I like Discovery, but it's hard to believe the first two seasons occur just a decade before The Original Series, given the blatant superiority of the technology; Enterprise had the same issue. I hate to make the analogy, but Star Wars' prequels I think are more believable chronological predecessors than Trek's.
I find it odd that it took things such as CG'ing out Henry Cavill's mustache took $300 million. Definitely makes one wonder where all that budget money went.
