I like both, but The Witcher 3 is a more well rounded game, with great gameplay, deep narrative, fantastic graphics, interesting characters, etc. Bloodborne has great gameplay but is weak in most other areas, and I still think Dark Souls is a better example of that type of game.

I'm sure the platform holders will have good showings, but personally I'm more excited for 3rd party games and above all for VR.

I'm just glad I'm in a position to enjoy this game. To bad those that can't are just being entitled whiny bitches about it.

Anyhow, bullshit double standard. If MS uses it's money to acquire exclusivity then everyone complains about how MS is fucking evil and a blight to gaming. Sony does it and it's "thank you Sony for loving gamers!".

I hate that crap either way. Microsoft and Sony buying up third party games or developers is bad for gamers in general.

I don't know if the new Tomb Raider will ever show up on PS4, but I'll be getting the PC version in any case. I really enjoyed the Tomb Raider reboot.

Definitely looking forward to this. Hope it comes to PC quickly.

I do too. I still play the PC version of Tomb Raider from time to time. I really like it a lot. I hope the PC version of this new one won't be delayed too long.

The Xbox controller has always been much better for people with larger hands. I can't stand the dualshock they are way too small. I can literally wrap my hands and engulf the entire controller. No good.

I haven't used the Xbox One controller much, but I know that I prefer to use the Xbox 360 controller over the DS4 on my PC, even though I own and can use either controller as I please.

@kalipekona: except that's not what people are saying or why most people like it. I'm not even a fan of the series but what you said is incredibly dumb.

You must not have understood my point. I was responding to a particular comment and showing that it's easy to label something as crap and then attempt to dismiss other people's opinions by basically saying "you're opinion isn't valid because you like crap". It's pointless circular reasoning.

No, you like the witcher's combat system because it makes you feel like you are winning without as much effort. That doesn't make it better.

No, you like the Souls type combat because it's simplistic and repetitive pattern recognition, which your brain can handle. That doesn't make it better.

See, anyone can do that crap. Pulling the ol' "you're not good enough or smart enough to understand this epic game the way I do" is lame.

I like Witcher 3 combat more honestly. That Witcher3's dodge is so much better than Dark Souls rolling. I mean in Witcher 3 you can do both, dodge and rolling, while Dark Souls you mostly always roll to avoid damage which is pretty unrealistic. Geralt can dodge not only back, but also, depending on to which direction you press your analog stick , to the left or to the right, and also, by pressing repeatedly, he can graciously pass among several opponents, and you only need to roll to avoid area attacks of monsters, which makes Witcher 3 combat much more tactical and thoughtful than that of Dark Souls. The only thing that Dark Souls does better is that its monsters have much more complex attack patterns. Witcher 3's monsters become quite predictable after a while.

People that say that Witcher 3 combat is bad have no idea how actually to fight in this game. They just spam rolling and button-mash.

You make some really good points and I mostly agree with you.

I like the combat in both games, but it honestly seems like a lot of the hardcore Souls fanboys/cows are feeling very defensive and greatly exaggerating the quality of the Souls/Bloodborne type combat, at the same time trying very hard to downplay the Witcher 3's combat. Mechanically both systems work very well for the way the respective games are designed.

Why do people dog on the Witcher combat system when Dark Souls combat is sluggish and clunky. I literally back stabbed enemies just to finish them off quickly. Unfortunately there are order flaws the soul games have that people tend to ignore.

The Souls combat definitely feels slow and clunky, but it works for the way those games are designed.

My friend got the PC version for free, but he decided to get the PS4 version since he heard they were very similar. Lo' and behold, he says they are essentially the same. Is this true, SW? I thought PC version was supposed to be noticeable better?

Well, your "friend" either has serious vision problems or he's trying to mislead you.

The difference is fairly significant.

Shadow quality and rendering distance, foliage quality and quantity, foliage translucency and specularity rendering distance, texture quality...these are some of the readily apparent areas where the PC version is well ahead. Not to mention things like higher resolutions, downsampling, Hairworks, HBAO+ and higher framerates.
