You missed the main argument. Some of the companys choices, may be to please the clients. This isnt one of them. This is a monetary choice, so they dont care if we like it or not. So, the only way for them to not do this, is if it's worse for their purse than the other option. Now, with this bad reviews, next game they are offered money for releasing it as epic exclusive, they will think twice, because it's not just free money, it has consequences for them

@triplebullet: It has nothing to do with beeing childish, it's a way to prevent it from happening again. A comment saying we dont like it on a forum or whatever other thing has absolutely no influence on them, since they dont do it bc we prefer it, they do it for profit. They wont say, oh you prefer it that other way, ok we wont do it again.

Getting bad reviews for doing this crap on the other hand may indeed harm their sales, so next game they release, they will think twice before forcing us to use that spyware client.

@turboset: Dont mix in the awesome developers with the shitty publishers. Gearbox has nothing to do with the Epic crap, they are just the developers. It's the morons from 2k the ones who decided this.

And it does come to a cost. Remember the success of google+? No, right? Well, I sure wasnt going to use 2 facebooks instead of one. And Im not going to use multiple game platforms either. Steam has everything, so I will either steam or direct download it, not use yet another platform. And dont get me started with all the spyware Epic client has.

No, the contrary. Any game with epic exclusivity should be banned from being released in steam whatsoever.

Fortnite? Whats that? I've never seen anything about it in gamespots frontpage. You could start putting 3-6 news about it every day for 6 months, unlike the past 6 months...

I've been checking pc gamer for a while now that you mention it, and it really looks good. It has 1 article on the frontpage about battleroyale games sure, but not the ridiculous spam gamespot has had in its frontpage for so long now.

@TacticaI: Any recommendation as an alternative? gamespot has been my favourite for 15 years, but this is too much. Not the fact that it's filled with fornite/battleroyal games, but the fact that it's been like this for about 6 months. Each day I enter and it's just battleroyal this., battleroyal that, mostly fortnite. A week, ok, a month, ok, 6 months.... it's time to change to something more akin to my likeings.
