@j3diknightdave: Technically, like the last couple of years there won't be any xbox exclusives since they'll be on pc aswell. Personally I don't see how this deal changes anything in my case since I predominantly play on pc anyway and historically complement my pc with a playstation midgen if there is enough sony exclusives that interests me and that arn't coming to pc. Unless MS tries to force me to use the windowsstore and uwp format, in that case... Bethesda or not I'll pass on their games. But I agree that they should up their game to catch up to sony so most gamers get better games and services. Ever since consoles has gone over to pc architecture it has been golden years for pc, especially the last years where even sony has ps/pc games and releases some of their top exclusives on pc. Best case imo is all consoles put everything on pc. ;)
Might be true or just an excuse. I bet it is delayed to the PS5 release as it's a very good console seller. And Corona is a very good excuse to delay it.
@santinegrete: Completely agree! "Old" gamer soon to be 40yo and played fps since the original wolfenstein on pc and it has been a complete frustration for years since shooters got big on consoles. Everything got slowed to cater to the controller setup and then watered down with fixed load outs, boring "real world" weapons and glorification of soldiers and military, regenerating health and ammo in abundance since it takes two shots to kill an enemy. Finally a fast paced game that is challenging (unless you are playing on easy) and where you need to manage your ammo, health and armor and use different tactics and weapons against different enemies. If they hit you it counts and you can't run away behind a corner like a b*tch and get full health again. And it keeps you constantly moving, stay still and you're dead. Atleast on Nightmare and higher difficulty. I just wish there was proper old school multiplayer similar to Quake 3 and the old unreal tournament games aswell. Fast and brutal with dogfights unlike the call of duties and similar games where it's more "I saw you first, you die" gameplay. In quake you can get hit with most weapons and survive and actually come up on top with skill anyway.
@Thanatos2k: I agree, probably something that comes with the younger generation. A feeling of spoiled and lazyness emerges. Same thing that gave us regenerating health and two weapon loadouts at the start of the match and first see first kill shooters instead of the amazing dogfights of old. If you actually had to fight it out the really good players would be on top while the shitty ones will have near zero kills. By the newer system if you see someone first you can also get a kill even if you are bad, and they crave that instant gratification of really no big effort.
I'm old enough to have started out on the amiga and commodore 64, so actually reading has never been a problem for me. That and the fact I do enjoy books aswell. I would never skip a good game because I have to read.
@deactivated-5c1c32e0b8cc8: Well obviously strategy or tactics games are not for you if you need to feel that it is you who is the soldier. As for the camera beeing so far away, if WL3 is anything like 2 you can zoom in, they just didn't do it for that video. In fact it just looked scripted to show of the vehicle, you didn't see a hud or the player making any moves.
Who will this attract? It'll probably have a pricepoint close to pc, the design is way to outrageous and unpractical for most gamers to want to have in the livingroom. And what about game content for it? Unless it actually is a fully fledged pc, with no exclusive games it'll be without a very good incentive for gamers to buy it like the xbox one. And atleast the xbox one has an established base and other services to offer. This seems to has none of that and no games. We'll have to see what it has to offer IF it actually is fully released.
@Assimilat0r: That dlc was 19,99 at release and currently at 4,99. The other dlc was 12,99. So wasn't 30 euros for another campaign. Also I can't remember the last time I paid 40 euros for a pc game. You do use keysites like Kinguin etc for cheap pc games that you redeem on steam? I usually pay around 30-35 euros for games that cost 60 on steam. A 40 euro game usually goes for 20-25 on those sites.
Why people are actually pissed off just shot over their heads. Not many people would be pissed off if there is a spinoff on mobile. It's because it's a exclusive game to mobile where they continue the mainline story and they choose to unveil it to their main audience that actually made the franchise big in the first place, pc gamers. An audiance that has asked for features and a new game for a long time now as they have waited so long.
That's like hyping a huge act for a metalfestival and then booking Taylor Swift to perform... what the hell did they expect?
It's not the same as just putting a spinoff or like on console the actual same game on another platform. Very few care about that. And then there's the reaction that it might be a reskin and not really "diablo". That remains to be seen though.
Same thing with C&C, fans have asked for a proper sequel for ages now, and no one is counting that trash that is C&C 4, and then they get a mobile game... atleast that one doesn't continue the story.
You know what... I'll eventually cave and buy this game... I have with every other AC title except for Rogue... this franchise has become to me like FIFA for the sportnerds... But it'll be a while since I'm currently all in on Divinity Original Sin 2 atm and I'm not done with it for a long time. Hands down best rpg in the last decade.
