Personally bar the particle effects I think FF7R already looks better than this demo. That game was released and optimized for PS4, the PS5 capabilities will make the sequel looks even better! And hopefully not a linear coridor experience.

Bit off topic, I think some characters in FF16 trailers uses similar styled clothing to this demo. Reused concept art maybe?

FF7 is amazing, and they used UE4, but I believe that if they had chosen for Luminous Engine, the game must reach another level of graphics

I don't know, so we'll find out in the near future.

I was wondering what kind of games could reach that level graphic, and then we got Forbidden West gameplay!!!

So this question is already done!!!

You need to put more content into this thread cause I have no idea what we're discussing, and a thread title doesn't count as an actual discussion.

ok

Considering its being held-back by PS4, I thought it looked really good.

Yes. The XSX may be 1600P 30 also.

The GPU limit is the easiest wall to hit with these new systems (as it should be). devs are going to make cuts to res and/or framerate to get their other visual requirements running.

It looks like temporal reconstruction (or image reconstruction of some sort) will be a big area of focus for R&D so that the game can render at a lower res but still put out something that looks nigh on as good as 4K native.

Interesting technologies is gonna be using in games. I don't care about 4k 60fps, but I'm worried about beautiful textures and high poly running at least in 1440p 30fps!!!

@joaopedro7: Based on that cutscene Horizon looks like it has far more going on honestly, would state it looks more pleasing but the smaller details the Final Fantasy clip has some nice details.

Is worth considering CGI has different techniques to make them look more impressive than they actually are, unlike games, CGI clips can be touched up frame-from-frame by professional digital artists to look as visually pleasing as possible.

Because in gaming we have control over what we see, this makes those touch-ups impossible. As such is down to the engine, lighting, and other rendering effects to make the game look more visually pleasing. Would take artists in a controllable video game to touch-up hundreds of thousands of possible frames. Potentially millions. Which would be a life long project. Many who already touch-up CGI clips work to the bone so I do not think it's realistic that a game can ever catch up to good CGI, especially in the same generation.

Perhaps today's games are as beautiful as 2000's CGi... like FFX-2
