Brilliant logic. You should major in law or philosphy. It's your calling.

Kojima specializes in stealth games and melodrama. Platinum games specializes in action titles. It seems as if Kojima has the wisdom and the humility to recognize his strengths and more importantly his shortcomings. I doubt the story will be anything significant, and the gameplay certainly isn't in line with what MGS fans are accustomed to. However if you were to view this as a stand alone title, I think it will hold its own against other titles in the genre.

Epic would never make an engine that can't be run on the next generation of consoles. It would be a huge and pointless cut into their profits. Reorient yourself.

Clearly, we have a misunderstanding on our hand. I'm not talking about Wii U gamepad with the touch screen. I'm talking about the "360 inspired" controller dubbed the "Wii U Pro" controller with regards to shipping with the Wii U. Making GTA V work a several different controllers, especially the Wii U and Wii remote and the Wii U Pro, will undoubtedly be a moderate logistical challenge for all launch titles. One that I assume R* will avoid. And again, I completely disagree with the assumption that R* would undoubtedly make a significant profit from a Wii U release. The core fan base already owns a PS3/360 since they purchased GTA IV. What audience are the gaining by releasing on the Wii U? Parents? People who haven't purchased a current generation console? Seriously, my point still stands. Your assumption is poorly thought out.

As for 3rd party support, I'm not the only one concerned about a lack of third party support for the Wii U. Here is an article from Forbes Magazine: http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2012/06/12/analyst-wii-u-is-in-a-tough-position/. Nintendo hasn't needed it in the past, but acting stunned that they don't have it now is naive on your part in my opinion.

Lastly, I'm not saying they can't develop touch screen controls. They did a great job using touch screen with the 3DS and GTA Chinatown. But why would they go through all that trouble to develop the touch screen controls to release GTA V, most likely well after the 360/PS3 release, on the Wii U? The majority of the audience will have purchased the title on 360/PS3. I understand what I am saying will not be a popular comment, but I am fairly confident it will come to be.

I don't know how familiar you are with Nintendo's history of hostility towards third parties, but needless to say, there is a reason almost every successful Wii title is first party. As far as the gamepad goes, does the Wii U ship with one? If not, how many people would rush out to buy a new controller to play GTA V instead of just purchase it for PS3/360? Can the controls even work on the Wii controller? Does R* want to put in the effort and money to make touchscreen features when they already have a guaranteed hit on their hands? I would assume it's common sense that R* doesn't want to make "less money".

And the Wii is undoubtedly the most family friendly console on the market, that's not an insult or "bull****", it is just a fact. It's the sole reason the Wii's massive success. It's reason Kinect and Move are even on the market right now. I guess it you want to believe in corporate conspiracies paying off Take Two instead of reason than you might as well put back on your tin foil hat while you are at it.

@Polybren I guess more simply put. I think you're throwing the baby out with the bath water. I'd encourage you to simply not purchase the DLC or avoid a specific DRM title. Don't avoid new games in general.

@Polybren I understand and can certainly relate to your distaste for the markets consumer hospitality as of late. However, no business successful model can be run soley on "Kickstarter" like projects. A great deal of your purchase goes to the publisher but some goes to the developer. I don't think the answer to this situation is to not purchase new games, which ultimately hurt and potentially ruin the developer. Big publishers like EA and Activision Blizzard will weather the storm

I'm sorry but this is hands down an illogical argument. Your argument is that you don't buy new games because publishers are attempting to sell you or have you preorder DLC. However (and you even acknowledge this in your article), the reason publishers are now releasing DLC is directly related to the lack of return on used games. If you actually cared about the developers, not the publishers, you'd still purchase the title new, and simply not purchase the DLC. Not purchasing the DLC in and of itself can discourage the practice. With what you're doing now, you are reinforcing the publishers decision. You are part of the problem. Buy the game new, trade the game when you're done with it, and don't purchase DLC is what I say.

@Neo_Sarevok Microsoft's decision?! Sony has been a key company behind blocking used game sales. Look at the Vita! What has Microsoft done to prevent used game sales? I'm not doubting they will jump on the band wagon, but you're just flat out lying to yourself if you think Microsoft is the origin of this. I can think of things Activision Blizzard, EA, Valve & Sony have done.
