@PayneKiller This game is part of the GTA IV universe, so no Vercetti.

@deathstream They're just doing their job. They gave the game an average score, cause guess what? It was an average game. Now they're covering the fallout cause it's huge news: the owner's a huge sports figure, 300+ people got fired all at once, the whole thing has been a sideshow leading up to this (who the hell goes to the government and gives them a check they know is gonna bounce?), and now the state could end up losing $100+mil over this loan, give or take (I've seen a lot of figures reported) and unsurprisingly, as a result, it's huge news in RI in particular, and big news in general with all the budget deficit problems nationwide, at the federal and state level. Yeah, I'd say this is worth covering.

And, it's the greatest recent example of how NOT to run a game developer, hopefully someone learned something from this disaster.

@Richardthe3rd Well it's not like this was a loan shark loan that they were going to have to pay back a month after the game shipped. They had until 2020 or something like that. They just spent too much money making the game, and too much money on an MMO they had no business making.

I'm not sure what Chafee was supposed to do, throw more money at a failing company? Rhode Island is already gonna be stuck paying off the rest of this loan, which ended up being a complete disaster. The last thing the state needs is more money lost from this debacle. He should probably be blaming Curt and the other execs running the show, because 38 Studios, from a business standpoint, was horribly mismanaged.

@hsl77 All it takes is a few clunkers (i.e., every 2K sports game aside from the NBA series) to drag everything down. Plus, it's not like the games they are making are cheap. Max Payne 3 was in development for an incredibly long time, and other games have also had long development periods, which costs a lot.

Vega was introduced fine I think. I didn't read any comics (though I did play all the DLC, beat both games waaayy too many times too) but with all that's going on at the beginning portion of ME3, you don't really need to know Vega right away, especially since he's in your squad for a whole 5 minutes in the beginning of the game. He isn't with you on Earth, he's with you in the very beginning on Mars, then he disappears until the very end, and then you're on the Citadel (where you're solo), and then lastly...you get to know him on the Normandy (when you gain full control of it), where even Shepard admits he doesn't really know James, and at THAT point, you're given the rundown. It worked fine.
