I can't help but feel disappointed with gaming this year, no single game has really impressed me or left me wanting to play more. I have played:

Killzone 3 - Downgrade from KZ2 Never played it, but Im sure your correct
inFamous 2 - Good game but falls short from great Was just as good as the first
LA Noire - Big disappointment Depends on what kind of game you like, I thought it was pretty good
Crysis 2 - Disappointing Best Single Player FPS Story I have ever played, but it has bad multiplayer
Bulletstorm - Average Never played
Brink - Awful I agree
Motorstorm Apocalypse - The worse Motorstorm Never played
Socom 4 - Very average I didn't personally like it.

It just seems like all these games lack something special, the best on the list are just good, not incredible. The only games I see that can save 2011 for me are Uncharted 3 and AC Revelations. What? No BattleField 3, Modern Warfare 3, or Elder Scrolls Skyrim? All those games will be incredible! ( I hope )

In general, I think gaming is starting to lose its magic. All I really see is shooting games, I was so hyped for Insomniacs new announcement. I was hoping for a great new platforming adventure game, a new world to explore. Instead they revealed a bland looking shooting game.

Anybody else wished there was less focus on shooting people and hyper realistic graphics, and more on the actual game? Games seem to lack atmosphere, a sense of adventure, story, imagination, art, and that special spark. I'd give anything for a new universe like Jak or Ratchet.I would love to see a new Jak game, I have been tempted for the last few months to buy a PS2 and play some good PS2 ****cs.

While you do make some good points, its all opinion. I personally feel like this is one of the best years for us gamers. With more the 10 good games out this year, ( LittleBigPlanet 2, Crysis 2, L.A. Noire, Uncharted 3, Assassins Creed Revelations. Elder Scrolls Skyrim, BattleField 3, Modern Warfare 3, Dead Island, and who forgot about Portal 2). While I am still holding my breath for some titles, I am hoping they will be good, or atleast playable.
