@unportant: Honestly, I don't know what a deep-stater is. I'm not trying to be political. I just know that Hollywood likes to make money, and things like Ring of Power is made with share holders in mind. Not for the fans who love and adore Tolkien for what it is. We the fans are what makes Middle-Earth the household name that it is. If the books never sold millions of copies, if the Peter Jackson trilogy didn't make billions of dollars, there would be no Rings of Power. So, yes. They owe to us to make content that respects the source material as much as possible. And because we love Middle-Earth so much, we will continue to ratio and hate watch and debate in the comments section.
@unportant: The importance here is context. WHY are they changing it? People are not so much rejecting the change as they are rejecting why they are being changed. And from where I am sitting, the reasons for the changes are not so altruistic as some would believe. Follow the money.
