I have few gripes with MS but one glaring issue is they have no clue what to do with this studio. Nothing for over a decade then they offer this turkey. Spoiler alert, not even Jack Sparrow will be able to save this game. Battletoads was also a turkey. Everwild looked beautiful honestly, but its a trailer which is essentially advertisement so marketing meaning it's supposed to. Yet another studio that desperately needs to go back to their roots.
Why aren't they making platformers? They were excellent at that. 2D or 3D it made no matter they were on point. Spun nothing but pure platinum for Nintendo. Donkey Kong Country, Banjo, Conker, Killer Instinct, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, need I say more? Sell it back to them they might actually do something with it.
They will make a trailer and it will look all kinds of sweet. Then in typical EA style we will play the game and know that we wanted more than we got. Motive is trash.
The guy who plays the Japanese swordsman in everything for the last 3 years is going be a Japanese swordsman in John Wick 4? You'll hear no complaint from me...he's excellent.
He's kinda taken the roll of the Calamity so I think not. Especially since usually this is a game of using weapons, equipment, and magic to reach the discernible conclusion. Given that Ganondorf is seen using only one those things throughout the ENTIRE SERIES, I deem this scenario unlikely. It's a terrible idea which is why they never bothered and hopefully never will.
2k Sports is and always was the superior choice in sports games. If they bring back NFL 2k it'll be 3 years tops before EA pulls an NBA Live move and just stops trying. They are in a league of their own and no I don't care about how savage they are about their microtransactions. They all do it and they all don't care what you think about it because money. That aside their games have better controls, better AI, better modes, better commentary, better music (lets be honest though a 2/10 for 2k is better than 1/10 for EA but your still gonna turn it off its all garbage), and on top of all of it there isn't the incessant need to advertise their engine like EA and their precious precious Frostbite engine that makes all of their games look the bloody same.
@Dezuria: Did I say they were giving in to anything? I'm fairly certain the general consensus of the industry is this is sort of the normal now which is great. So why make a deal of it? Why is it worth an article? It isn't really but why?
The answer is simple...PR. The wolves are at their door constantly. For reasons that are reasonable and otherwise. They get dinged for misrepresenting genders and sexualities, not enough racial representation (which is fine so long as history is not changed to do so) or racial misrepresentation, for abuse or harassment be it sexual or otherwise, abuse of children at a tournament, managerial misconduct, and only the gods know what else those people get up to. They need investors to invest and stay invested. So they simply must tell people how they are so progressive when they should be making their game and letting that speak for itself...like they all used to.
