Hmm... It weird to see that so many are saying that they DS lite is more fragile.
I personally have an old DS whereby the hinge broke after i fling it towards a wall while it was in my bag ONCE(it even had protection padded pouch and clothes in the bag as protection), just once and it's broken.
From what i see from my brother's DS Lite, it's "hinge" design is much better and doesnt look like it will break as easily as the old one.
The old DS hinge is just too small, and thus needs to withstand more "pressure" and is more prone to be broken.

I also dislike the old DS power switch location, it happened to me on a few occations whereby "closing" the "lid" switched off my game(and i didnt intend to switch it off).
The L and R shoulder buttons dont feel as well as the Lite's, the sharpness of colors isnt as well too.
I also like the DS Lite's Power Light location, which ismore easily seen. And also the new Stylus storagelocation, longer/better battery life, "iPod" surface makes it looks nicer to me.

The only thing i like about the old DS, is the location of the Start and Select buttons.

I'd recommend Nintendogs and Animal Crossing.DazzleKitty

i would second that, but Animal Crossing might be too much for a 7year old.
Taiko no Tatsujin DS would be nice, but too bad it's Japanese.

Mario Kart is quite a great game! Ultimate replay value, and fun multiplayer especially with friends!
One question though: Do u have friends who live nearby and have DS? If yes, it would be nice to discuss with them to all get a game with good and funMultiplayer, like Mario Kart.
And also, Legend of Zelda is pretty good too. =)
Hope ur DS brings u lots of fun

It's kinda sad to think about sometimes that the Pokemon gameplay has stayed the same for sooo many years!
They should have really overhauled the gameplay for this DS game. Not to say that Pokemon Diamond/Pearl sucks, but it could really have done better to give old players a fresh new experience.

This game requires too much grinding, and with no PVP feature, too little/almost no"Boss raiding dungeons", the only good thing is the "trying to be cute" graphics.
But it might be good for wasting some time =/

Hmm, i dont thinkthe chance forFF7 onwardsto be on DS is high, but if it really does, the DS sales might really shoot up a lot xD
And not to mention, DS owners would be more than happy to have them.
