Can anyone recommend a good game for a 7-year-old girl? I tried to get her Brain Age for Xmas, but that was more advance than I thought.

She liked Super Princess Peach. Any suggestions?

Check out Drawn to Life and Yoshi's Island DS. Those might please her. As suggested above, New Super Mario Bros is great as well, I personally found it too easy and short, but that's perfect for a 7 year old.

I really think that animal crossing is the way to go for this topic. It has great customization, and is simple to play

i would second that, but Animal Crossing might be too much for a 7year old.
Taiko no Tatsujin DS would be nice, but too bad it's Japanese.

Looking through my younger brother's stash as well as my own (I'm a girl, by the way, just quite a bit older than your daughter):

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales (Cute, fun, and not hard for younger ones. Also, it uses variations of old fairy tales, which is really cool for kids, in my opinion. It is one of my all itme favorite games).

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Nintendogs, Kirby: Canvas Curse

Kirby: Squeek Squad

Pokemon: Diamond/Pearl

Cooking Mama 1 or 2

MarioKart

Tetris DS

Bomberman

Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time

Big Brain Academy (Not as complicated as Brain Age, and more fun orientated. It might be a little bit better for a child).

That should get her started, hehe.

Hmmm, you could also try those Imagine games. They have stuff like Imagine Fashion Designer or Imagine Chef. Those look like they'd be good for a 7 year old girl.

Dragon Quest Rocket Slime or Bust a Move DS are fun games your 7 year old girl would enjoy.

Buy her Contra IV. It's the game that keeps on giving! Hey and it will teach her some very important lessons such as, never giving up!

Jam sessions is great as well;it might raise her curiosity for musical instruments!
