Even if Nintendo makes a console far ahead of the PS3 and 360, and maybe at par with the PS4 and new microsoft system, i can still see single-minded PS3 and 360 fanboys refusing nintendo and trying to reasure themselves that there current gen consoles are better. Heck, even if it outruns the PS4 and the new microsoft system. This new age of gamers cant compare to the real gamers back in the day.D4W1L4H

Seriously though, I think you missed OP's point, if Nintendo releases this console this year or early next year, there is no way it will be close to on par with the PS4 and Xbox1080Q4700. At least not without costing like $700 at launch, or the new Sony and Microsoft consoles being vastly underpowered.

People who are comparing Nintendo and Sega are clearly ignorant of Sega's predicament back then. Nintendo is rolling the dough from wii. They have never lost money on a console. I think it might be wise for them to lose a few bucks on cafe though, since they have some money to spare at the moment. Currently, the rumored cafe specs are very nice, but will it provide a very noticable difference between this gen and the upcoming one?(IE Ps2 to PS3). Nintendo should put more money on hardware this time around.

I have 36 games preordered/payed off. I think I'm good for this year, into early next year.

I wouldn't mind it if this was a new standard for the industry. Having 3 consoles that release so close together is so boring, pointless, and expensive. Even having one in between makes it easier for developers to expand what they can do on current consoles. As most probably know, Crytek recently complained about console limitations, then said 8gb should be standard next generation... Thats way overkill, but they have a point, generations that are this long really limit developers. How much better can we get on our current consoles? Looking at games like Uncharted 2, Killzone 3, etc. I don't think they can be pushed much more.

DDOS will be hard to do anything about, because while they can tell its coming from your connection, they can't tell you did it.

The big thing is finding the instigators. There are probably thousands using DDOS, so that would be a waste of time.

All batteries use some amount of battery, even when off, especially if the battery is old.
