The EA NHL series needs competition. When NHL2k was still being made it was killing EA. EA then had to make changes to compete and that was when the skill stick was introduced. Dekes were a thing and it worked well. Had NHL2k made the same adjustments EA would be scrambling now. Because before the skill stick, EA’s NHL series was losing to NHL2k. Sad that 2k sports made some good games but couldn’t keep up.

2k sports made football, baseball, nhl, and basketball at one point. Sad that the shittiest sports of the 4 is what 2k still makes. It’s like 2k got the scraps or leftovers from a huge meal. MLB The Show killed their baseball game. But Football and NHL games 2k had a chance. Both pushed EA to do better. 2k just couldn’t keep up.

Haven’t bought NHL in forever. Still don’t know why Malkin or Crosby hasn’t been on the cover. They won back to back cups and nothing. The one year the Pens won the cup and Chicago was on the cover. I mean Toews and Kane have been on their. Even McDavid has been on the cover. Crosby has lived up to the hype and nothing. Lol

@walbo: yea not with MS’s record with anti-trust lawsuits before. That is why I don’t see them buying anything else big. If so Sony won’t be the only company looking into the Anti-Trust laws.

@Barighm: I don’t. It’s not about portability, which xcloud will be bring. It’s about the games and Xbox is seen as a western console. There are a ton of games never released here in the US because Japan doesn’t feel they do well here. Dragon Quest 11 is an example of that. I mean we never got DQ10 and any DQ game coming to the US was going to be based on sales of DQ11.

@walbo: they might be looking for more but they ain’t spending billions again. Sega is worth at least a few billion if Minecraft was worth 2.5bn and King Mobile was worth 5.9bn. MS buys anything else big the industry will start to step in. MS has tried to shit with windows and got busted. MS has bought a lot of studios and buying more like Zenimax would be have them starting to corner the market. There is only a few really big 3rd party companies. I think MS overpaid for Zenimax. Especially since WB was going for almost half that at 4.5bn rumored. But I think Zenimax was bought to help Xbox get revenue. Spencer can say all day it’s not about the money it’s about the games and that he isn’t touching Zenimax. But those are all pr bs. Buying Zenimax is like buying WB, EA, or Activision. You don’t buy a company that makes many titles that make a shit ton of money on many platforms to just add games to game pass. Zenimax will be 3rd party with MS getting timed exclusives or exclusive games here and there. Hines said that Bethesda would make and publish its own games still. That Xbox was there to help them grow. So I don’t see Xbox or MS spending any more big money. Sega or Capcom will probably see Nintendo and/or Sony step in. Freaking Capcom helped developer the Switch.

@sippio: the only difference in ps+ when it comes to free games was it left the free games stay free after they where offered. Which was only good if you just bought a PS3/PS4. As for Xbox Live they didn’t start the free game thing until after Sony did with PlayStation. You act like both services were giving out games everyday and it’s free. Jesus Christ quit whining. You came here just to shit on this news.

@sippio: game pass is the same thing. It even ask you to buy the game while you are downloading it from GP. It’s nothing like Netflix btw. Netflix is a streaming service that gives access movies and shows for a number of tvs depending on which tier you pick. PlayStation plus like Xbox Live is a subscription service that allows you to play online, get free games, and etc. 2 different services.

Your comment makes no sense. No one owning a PS4 is building their library 2 free games at a time.

@CyberEarth: Well unless Law and Order is canceled from NBC it’s not jumping ship. But it’s good that shows get a second life elsewhere. But this isn’t really going anywhere as the DC all was probably on its way out or slimmed down once HBO Max was announced. As AT&T own WB, DC, HBO, DirectTv, and etc. It’s probably cheaper to stream everything from one app then have 2 streaming services.

This is no surprise as DC is owned by AT&T who also owns HBO. So it makes no sense having 2 streaming services. Especially since HBO Max has so many other channels content for streaming.
