@notafan: lol The PS3/PS4 has one of the best UIs. The UI is the worst part of it and still is. You are in the minority. Big time. It’s a bad UI design. But this has been a problem with Xbox consoles since the Xbox launched. While the original was ok. The 360 just became an old geocities website with ads on it. Same of the current X1 UI. They are always shoving ads down my face. The best dashboard look was the 360 at the end of its life. The nice 3d look and whatnot. You don’t play a ps3/PS4. So you can’t judge how the UI is on those consoles. Just search the internet and you will how bad the X1 UI is. I would understand if you just said you like it but saying it’s a better UI then the PS3/PS4 is being ignorant. I get it that sometimes people like a cluttered desktop and that is fine. But that is better. It’s a mess. PS4 UI quick and easy to navigate. The X1 isn’t. But any means. Even the latest update doesn’t make things better. The big thing is "less is more" and that is what the PS3/PS4 are. The X1 UI is just to cluttered and always wanting me to buy something. You can like any controller. But that isn’t a reason to play on that console. As today you can use a PS4 on an Xbox and an Xbox controller on a PS4. As I said before the UI for the X1 was from Windows 8, which was an awful operating system. I work in the tech field and most people either stayed at windows 7 or stayed with XP.
@notafan: ms has technically been out sold 3 generations. The Xbox was destroyed in sales by the ps2. The 360, even with an extra year and the much maligned PS3, still finished 3 as the PS3 eventually passed it. Not by much but passed. Though the Wii out sold both. This time the PS4 just out right again destroyed it in sales. The Switch has passed it up. The sad thing is the 360 was Their best console and that thing was a disaster hardware wise. Xbox isn’t gonna be bad next generation but the ps5 has so much momentum from the PS4 with all the exclusives it’s gonna be another great console generation for Sony. The Xbox Series X has to many unknowns. MS did but studios but they have done that before and has closed quite a few of them. Those studios have yet to prove themselves.
Btw. How do you know the ps5 will be weaker? Not innovative? Lol. Cerny was the first to speak about the ps5. About the power being a huge jump, ssd, loading times, sound, and etc. Xbox literally copied the same exact details at e3 last year. It was like they just took Cerny’s wired interview and was paraphrasing it. Plus, I’m guessing you are going by rumors that the ps5 will be weaker. If that is the case rumors have also stated the ps5 will be the more powerful of the 2. While we are at there was rumors saying the os5 is much easier to work with and that it runs much better then the XSX. Runs faster, smoother, and just overall. MS and Sony tend to make better spec wise consoles each generation. But both have had innovation. Xbox’s big innovation is cloud gaming, which has been done. Game pass was done before by the PS3/PS4 with ps now. The Xbox’s biggest innovation was the Kinect, which turned out be a waste of money. It no longer is even needed.
Of course Sony is going ride off the PS4’s success. That lead into the new ps5 with great games. The PS4 has proved what makes a great console. EA saying single player games are dead. Yet PS4’s biggest games were single player. That exclusives are important and having a couple released a year works great. That price point matters. For some reason MS didn’t pay any attention to the PS3 pricing problem.
@notafan: @notafan: how can you say the PlayStation console is overrated when you haven’t had a ps since the ps2. The Xbox UI is awful. Just do a search on the internet and you will find thousands of articles on how bad it is. The X1 UI took the worse think from Windows 8, which was the panels. Since then I lost count the number of times X1 dashboard has changed. I love the way PS3/PS4/ps5 had and will have a simple UI. I don’t need a panel for everything. It’s just a bad design. I can understand if you like the Xbox brand and the games they put out. But to say they are innovators and the ps consoles are overrated is just being ignorant. I have an X1 and only use it for game pass. The X1 was a disaster for the Xbox Brand and MS It’s best feature game pass is something they copied from ps now.
@Barighm: yea FF15 was awful. It was boring, the personalities were awful, and FF games are colorful in so many ways, FF15 only color was the female mechanic. Just a bad game. I blame that on SE for having the guy who did KH series do FF15. That is what we got a mix of FF and KH equaled a whole lot of nothing.
The reason we can’t pre order us because they really didn’t show anything. We got a picture of a console and controller. The game wasn’t even gameplay it was more of a cutscene. So nothing was really shown. The whole VGA stunt was because of all the leaked dev kits, Cerny giving out the first info on the ps5. Spewing Spencer talking bs about how he has been using the new Xbox as his primary console and that people connected to it without knowing. I will say the design is awful. Laying horizontal it’s at least 2 maybe 3 X1 consoles. Looks more like a subwoofer then an actual console.
As for announcements of the next generation, Sony will be first in February again. MS will follow suit just like last time. Then at e3 Sony will reveal the look of the ps5, which give Sony the bigger e3. Especially since by e3 it will be 7 months since we got a picture of the Xbox Series X.
MS has a long way to be competitive again against Sony in the console market. First they got to prove they are spending the time and money on those first party games. Those devs will take years to be on the same level as PlayStation’s first party devs like Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Sony Santa Monica, and etc. MS has to be willing to spend the money to keep these devs, give them time to make great games, and not close them so quickly. MS then has do what it did back in the day and strike agreements with 3rd party devs like Ubisoft, Activision, and etc. The PlayStation had great first party games but also had agreements on time exclusives for 3rd party games. People can bitch and moan about it but exclusives get the fans to play your console. 3rd party games, indies, and others keep them there until the next big exclusive.
I have a few problems with Destiny. I was a day 1 preorder the best version for Destiny. It started out ok then shit fell to shit. I remember beating the game and getting the stranger’s rifle and thinking this is Bullshit. I blue weapon for beating the story on hard. Then the raids became the focus. Out of every raid, including D2, I’ve did about 8 raids. 5 of them are VoG and 3 are Crota. Got to the end of TTK raid and team bailed. Tried to get another team but since I never beat it was always the same shit. Need experience or a certain or both. I skipped D2 release and got when psn released it for free. Got the expansions and Forsaken. Again tried to get into the raids. Couldn’t. I have done 2-3 nightfalls total and that was because of that glitch you could die after chest appears to fight the boss again. That is as much as I got into the multiplayer aspect that didn’t have matchmaking. The whole reason to not have matchmaking is awful. Basically saying that if you have a squad that you can beat the raid because you know that squad’s strengths and weaknesses. But sites like lfg and others do matchmaking of random players. Granted most of them are very specific in what they are looking. But adding matchmaking to give all players a chance to get the raid loot hurts who? No one. You can’t get mad if the raid fails because you know the risks of randoms. At least with matchmaking for things like raids and nightfalls gives all Destiny players a chance. Instead because of this the raids in Destiny one were like completed by like 11% of the player base and D2 had like a little over 5%. The real hardcore doing the raids, everything at reset, owning everything for each class, are not the ones that keep the game going. It’s the ones that do most things they can by themselves. That is why Destiny always see a huge drop off after dlc is release. If they added matchmaking the game would be so much better.
I will say Luke Smith, ever since he made that comment about the year one D1 collectors edition I can’t stand him. He is the biggest ass and surprised they still let him speak. I will say the money they got from the invest won’t last forever and there is only so much you can add to a game like D2. At what point as a fan do you stop buy the yearly season pass for $40? Add on another $40 for the yearly dlc and you are paying more the price of a $60. If this year is like last by December you will have spent $250+ dollars on a game that can’t keep its fans interested longer then a month.
@ministersin420: I find that hard to believe that rick and Morty can’t create episodes fast because of funding. First CN can easily fund rick and Morty for fast episodes. Especially since adult swim is mainly reruns unless a new show comes on and that isn’t much when it does. Many animated shows release at the same of year every year and still manage to make many more then 10-12 episodes. Simpson’s, Family Guy, American Day, Bob’s Burgers, Steven Universe, Gumball, South Park, Final Space, Robot Chicken, and etc all release within a year of the end date. If there was a delay it didn’t happen every year and taken longer.
Also look at South Park, 6 days to make an episode. They are at their 23 or 24 season. They make 10 episodes. Their is no reason for Rick and Morty to take two and half years to make a 4th season. Each season has taken progressively longer. Season 1 ->2 15 months. Season 2->3 18 months. Now season 3->4 has taken 28 months. Longer if count April as the start of season 3. They do 10 episodes a season. If they did 14 like Harmon mentioned the last 2 years we might just be seeing season 3 now. The sad thing is season 3 was that good. It had a few great episodes like every season but this season was a rehash story wise. Rick vs the government and his family. At the rate they are making episodes it’s gonna take 20 years or more to do those 70 episodes. Season 5 March 2023.
@ganondorf77: yea no it didn’t. The problem is CDPR is starting to believe their own hype. A game that is suppose to come out in April of next year and doesn’t show the demo or have a hands on at the biggest gaming event. E3 is a week long commercial for games. CDPR either is drinking their own kool aid and thing this game won’t fail or at this point they want to get out no matter what the status of the game. Again with the whole we will show the demo in a few months. Why? Why wait so long? Why hide behind doors? Why act suspicious? Because they want the media to get all the hype they could get. This way when it’s released after a few months even if fans don’t like it the hype from the media will overshadow it.
@naija: yes yes yes! So tired of people acting like this game in something never done before. I have read other articles saying this demo wasn’t anything that stood out. How many times have we’ve heard you can play non-lethal or mix and match abilities? Last Watch Dogs did this. After WD2 was released Ubisoft added an update to do go non lethal all the way through. Deus Ex last 2 games has had these options.
As for customizations, it’s a joke. Great I can change my eye color, hair, color, what I look like, and yet I will hardly ever see them unless it’s a cutscene. So most of the customizations will be unseen the majority of the game. The whole bullshit that first person perspective makes gameplay immersive. Pondsmith’s awfu, explanation was that if someone behind you said something being in third person you could see them but in first person you wouldn’t know where it came from. Lol
