Yeah I would like to have a PSP go but the price is steep and I'm fine with playing UMDs. I have no need to go all digital as of now.

Zidaneski

Which is perfectly fine and thats why its nice that Sony is actually giving you that choice.

People hate it because the price is ridiculous, and the fact Sony controls the price of the games on the PSN and they price them ridiculously high, and the fact that there are so many games not even available on the PSN.

So yes if they add a UMD drive it would solve most of the problems with GO, but that would be pointless since the 3000 already has the UMD, and it's already cheaper and is just overall better than the GO.

BuryMe

I just went to PSN to check the prices. All the games there are cheaper than UMDs. (46 dollars just for GTA VCS? WTF?!!)

Also, PSP Go+UMD Drive=PSP Stop because having a UMD Drive on it would defeat it's purpose of being more mobile than the older ones.

How does having a UMD drive make it less portable? You get the best of both worlds with a UMD drive. The ability to download games or have UMDs. And the system can be redesigned to be more portable and maintain the disc drive.

The Go is thin enough to keep in your pocket. If you add a UMD drive to it then it will be thicker making it less portable than it is now. It fits in my pocket like a thin wallet but if it were to have a UMD drive it would be bulging out of my pants I would have a bigger problem in my pants.

Okay, to end this one now I will explain how this works as we have discussed this before.

If you buy the game new as UMD from the store you will have a code that will allow you to unlock the online playability of the game. The code, as I understand, is provided within the contents of the UMD case. Each code once used only works with one PSP. If you buy the game on PSN then the online mode only works with the PSP that bought the game. If you buy the game UMD used then you may have bought a game where the code was used by the previous owmer in which if you wanted to play online then you would need to purchase the $20 online code.

Yeah screw the UMD drive on the Go. If they did that all you haters would get one and then talk about how cool it is. If it gets a UMD drive it will not be as slim and that's one reason I like it.

I like you for that statement.

If you look on ebay you can get a new switch for less than $10. It is the most possible fix for you but I do not have instructions for you on how to install a new one. You can probably find a tutorial on the web on how to replace it but also note that this fix may not fix your problem, though it is the first step you should look at.

I would still watch out for ebay auctions as you could be buying a PSP that is bricked and you would need to unbrick it which would be inappropriate to discuss on these forumns. I am warning you on this as it has happened to people before. If it happens to you then do not ask these boards on how to fix it.

Hi everyone.. Guys i bought new PS3 slim last week and i need some good looking gaming skin on it. So i have searched a lot regarding this and came through a website , Is this website is really good in providing PS3 with gaming skin?darel60

Well, being a PS3 owner of a question like that you should consult the PS3 board rather than the PSP board. The original requester was asking for replacements for actual PSP incasement modification which seems to be that second hand sellers on amazon and ebay would offer. If you want the answer to the question you should post it to the PS3 boards but first you would actually need to give a link to the website you are talking about.

Man, you and I fight on this all of the time but it's friendly enough and I never intend to slam you with my opinion, though I like to put my opinion in. The price of the Go is a tad high but for the size and compared to other handheld devices, outside of 3000 and DS, it can ALMOST be justified so I can agree with you there though I was okay paying the $240 on amazon. And the PSN prices can be better but I don't complain, though my income is a little better than others being that I am out of college and have a decent job so I can see how students or the younger crowd in general have this complaint.

So yes, if you like UMD then stick with 3000 because if they were to add it to the Go then it would be bulky as well.
