Hey, I'm from Australia andI'm thinking of getting a psp. The 3000 model as I don't really like the GO. Just wondering if you could help with something. At EB Games they have the PSP 3000 new for $270 and a preowned one for $150, so it's $120 difference. The guy said all the second hand consoles they get are sent away to make sure there's nothing wrong with them and to check the screen and everything and it also comes with a 1 year warranty. So just want to know what people think would be best. The new one or the preowned one.

thanks

UPDATE: Sorry it was the 1000 model not the 3000 model for $150. So no need to vote anymore.

For the extra $20 its worth it to buy new IMO.

If you buy used, I'd go with a bundle off Ebay or Craigslist instead. You would get a lot more for your money.

Yeah I'm from Australia. It's $270 for the new one and $150 for the preowned one. So it's $120 difference.

I restarted the poll just incase anyone thought it was only $20 difference. Sorry for the confusion.

Get a new one.

It's always worth having the manufacturer's warrenty. And as much as EB says they check their systems (I'm sure they do,) a used one is more likely to be flaky than a new one

I think from a store with a warranty then for $120 difference it's worth getting a pre-owned one!

It doesn't really matter, but if you are low on cash, just pick up a Pre-owned one.

for $120 difference, id get the pre-owned. as long as its a psp2000 or 3000. the 1000 is alot thicker and heavier. if it has an IR port and an eject button, then its a 1000.

I'd choose preowned plus if anything went wrong with your PSP you could just return it anyway.

I would still watch out for ebay auctions as you could be buying a PSP that is bricked and you would need to unbrick it which would be inappropriate to discuss on these forumns. I am warning you on this as it has happened to people before. If it happens to you then do not ask these boards on how to fix it.

Ebay is a usually a reliable source, just be careful who you buy from, as mine came with a cheap battery and broken WiFi. Buy from an honest-looking normal person, not one of those power sellers with everything the same, then they're often cheating you on something. Then again, $120 is a good price, but it depends what comes with it.

Ok just went down and had a look and to make sure it was a 3000 model but it's not it's the 1000 model for $150. So I guess I'll be buying a new one instead. Sorry for the mix up guys. I appreciate the help. I'm going to get one in the next few days can't wait.:)
