@videolunatico the whole heterosexual idea is stupid...seriously, try to be in someone else's shoes. Would you be ok if your kind was constantly attacked, day in day out, with hate messages and threats of violence not just on the Internet but also in real life? Whether you agree or disagree on the notion, shouldn't you show a little respect for the variety in people? What's the point of living a life full of hate for other people when they're doing no harm to you personally?
This is one of the main reasons I left Gamespot and moved over to NeoGAF and Giant Bomb. I was thinking of coming back here, but then I realised I didn't want to interact with teenagers. This site is too big to be moderated for all the kinds of bigotry that still goes on.
Racism, homophobia, transphobia, and yet it's so odd because Gamespot is one of the few gaming websites where people of that variety are part of the staff. Yet they're still attacked on a daily basis. I knew Kevin VanOrd and Carolyn Petit back when they were just members. I'm surprised they haven't up and left for a more tolerant gaming community, but then you have to fight the good fight no matter how bad it gets. They're incredibly brave individuals and I cherish their contributions to this day.
@p4kman88 @digi_matrix GTA 4 already tried it with "Three Leaf Clover" and that was alright, but they've got nowhere near the depth in gameplay like these Payday games. GTA is just a standard shooter, while Payday has more mechanics that feel like a Heat game. Shouting and pointing at civilians to get down, taking hostages, ordering a squad around, teamwork, carrying packages, etc.
@sethfrost @digi_matrix The problem here is seeing Tony Scott effects for 10 hours, not 2 hours. And they're pretty damn random, they're even on when Max goes sober in the favelas.
They weren't used to hide the loading times, this has been proven wrong many times on the PC. Much like JRPGs, they force you to watch them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OQhD2rG6es
Thank you Kevin, I hate the Euphoria movement system in Max Payne 3. I don't even like it in Rockstar's open world games, where you can't even get through doors in one uninterrupted motion. I hate Max Payne 3, it just does not compare to the previous games in either gameplay (bullet time 2.0 gone, moving from cover to cover is awkward, diving makes you bump into scenery with stun lock) or storytelling (those awful cutscene effects and the constant barrage of them ruining the pacing, and they're also unskippable!).
@mystwade @WiredDreemz It's better in the gameplay so far, the stealth is actually fun and you can do a non-lethal run against humans (which I'm doing) for the whole game for which there is an achievement. Also, can't wait for Boards of Canada album! XD
