Up untill the point in which my account got hijacked and I realized how little Valve actully cares about its customers. See if you can find a phone number for customer support. I enjoyed the steam content delivery system. Currently I am looking around for a new one.

Well, seems they took notice of BFBC2 and the way EA and D.I.C.E. did it. Which sucks, because that means no custom content, they will make you pay for theirs.

As the former poster said. The code gets bigger, which requires more resources. On one side of the coin it would be great if the software didnt end up needing more and more resources, on the other, the software would have to stop improving.

Sorry, just the way it is. Remember windows came on a few 3 1/2" floppy disks. Now Win 7 comes on a DVD and needs the space.

OP, it depends on what games you want to play and at what level of graphical settings you want to run them.

Honestly for a Good Gaming Rig, your looking at way more than $500 USD.

In reguards to the macbook, as a former poster said, they dont have the hardware to run anything recent. And by recent id say within the last 2 years, without having serious issues with FPS ect. Even running windows.

A thought you might consider though, is Linux + Wine, you might be able to run games 2+ years and such decently. Just depends on how old your macbook is and what the specs are.

Typically when one says they hate the PC version of any game, its one of two things:

1. The Game Itself Is A Bad Port

or

2. The person voicing this opinion is a "Fan Boy"

I'm not dissing the OP, I am just saying...

Well that said and all, I enjoyed Halo on the PC much more than I did on my XBox. There are typically a couple of factors that will determine wether I play a game on a console or on PC, again if the PC version is a crappy port, or if it was ported/designed to operate properly on the PC.

For Example: Scarface

PC: It failed horribly. Many people were unable to play it out of the box, with even the most recent graphic cards.

Console: Decent game overall.

In the case of Halo, it worked fairly well on the PC, and as a PC gamer, I would rather stick with the pc.

Overall point, every one has differing opinions, don't diss someone elses because it differs from you're own.

They charge the card, but thier system sucks for cc transactions. Submit a ticket, follow up on it every day.

That being said, while I can understand your anger, comming here to rage will afford you nothing good. Only ridicule... ^_^

At least you didnt have you account stolen and the thief get it banned. Steam has a policy of not removing VAC bans, even if you can prove you wernt using the account.

As popular as they are, there are other content providers who are working towards getting better than Valve/Steam, especially on customer support.

Question on wether or not you computer can run a game... Read the first post on the first page. Well, people keep posting wanting to know, so for posterity I have posted the info they will need in the form of a quote from the FIRST POST, on the FIRST PAGE.

^_^

Useful Sites

System Requirements Lab: A simple to use website that utilises an internet plug-in to determine the hardware and software capabilities of your system, and measures it against your chosen game's minimum and recommended specifications. Normally is very reliable.

PC Game Requirements: Lists game specifications for almost all known PC games.

VG Requirements: Identical service to above site.

Determining your System Specs

Windows XP: In "Run", type "MSINFO32". The summary page of System Information will show you how much memory your computer has (Total Physical/Virtual Memory and Available Physical/Virtual Memory). It also displays detailed information about your computer's hardware.

In "Run", you can also type "dxdiag" to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. The "System" tab will display your computer Processor, Memory and DirectX version. The "Display" tab gives you information about your graphics card. You can also check that your graphics card is working correctly by testing the DirectDraw and Direct3D features.

Windows Vista/Windows 7: Exactly the same, except type the commands into the Windows search function on the Start Menu. Windows 7 can also rate your system abilities in accordance with the Windows Experience Index. Open "Performance Information and Tools" in the Control Panel.

Apple Mac OSX: Click the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner, and select "About This Mac". A window should open showing your OS version, processor and memory details. You must check to ensure games are Mac compatible.
