[QUOTE="yemen_headshot"] hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, i don't cheat so i don't worry about VAC !!yemen_headshot

You obviously didnt read what I sad. I said if someone gets ahold of your account, and gets caught cheating (the #1 reason for hijacked accounts is to test "hacks). THey get VAC banned, and steam will never remove that VAC ban. Meaning, if you get it back, you wont gt to play on VAC protected servers and the like.

aha, but I am not that stupid so anyone can hijack my account !!

I didnt do any thing stupid, 13 character password, never put it on a phishing site, never shared my details. BUt be oblivious if you want to, point is, if it happens, your up the creek for however long it takes them to fix it. Especially considering you cnat play ANY of the games.

Problem is, if they get ahold of your account. You still cant play online. If they get it VAC'd. You cant play any game affiliated with that account on a vac protected server.

Ok I posted the rig I was planning on buying the other day but when it came to actually getting my PC yesterday I decided to sell some crap that I don't use anymore so I can get a little more bang for my buck so here's my revised build which I am currently typing this message on (got it this morning runs soooo smooth)

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R 1366 Intel DDR3 Motherboard

3x 2GB DDR3 RAM

Intel i7 core 930 CPU

1TB Seagate HDD

GIGABYTE 5770 1G (HDMI, DX11) PCI-E VIDEO CARD

so yeah the sorta games i'll be playing are The Witcher, Dragon Age: Origins, Starcraft 2, Mass Effect, Crysis and some games I want to play in the future are Diablo III, The Witcher 2, Dragon Age 2, Crysis 2, Guild Wars 2 etc.. so yeah how will my computer do now and how will it do in the future :D thanks guys

A decent way to test how well your computer will run an upcomming game is to look at the min / recommended specs. If you beat them, then you should be fine. Also, you can read the quote in my previous quote, or the first post on the first page, and go test your computer againsed a recently released game at system requirements lab...

[QUOTE="derian_n_jade"]

I have yet to find a digital delivery platform that completely satisfies me.

Steams Support, especially when it comes to hijacked accounts, and billing issues, leaves a LOT to be desired.

D2D is fairly decent, and the DL times are ok, especially on my connection.

Ive bounced between the both of them over the years...

But I have to admit, I have mostly digital copies of my stuff. Ive got like 48 games on steam... >.>

DragonfireXZ95

I got my hijacked account back within a week. Shame on me for sharing my password with a friend. However, I had all the proof to get it back. credit card info and cd key from one of my games. Never had any billing issues however...

It took them a week to get me my account back. Again, if it had gotten VAC banned, it would have been permanent. And in reguards to billing issues, there is a post floating around here from today or yesterday, in which a guy got hit 5 times for the same game. He kept getting an error because the CC system has issues sometimes.

I just think they have some issues they need to address, Ill stick with D2D. By the by, ive got like 48 games/mods on my steam account.

Lol, I didn't mean to start a flame war about which web site is the best, I'm talking about individual games to be clear. For instance, no one goes to halo.xbox.com anymore. I'm thinking back to the tribes 2 days when everyone that played that game went to the same forum. I'm not arguing against aggregators, but is it even possible for a directly specific game website to foster a community anymore? Is anyone doing anything that works?rendezvous197

Many game studios will set up forums/sub-forums dedicated to specific licenses/games. Google is your friend ^_^

So let me get this right...EA are also traitors to the PC gaming community because you cant host your own games right?

Daytona_178

Nah, they are simply buisness men. They have strayed so far from what us PC gamers got used to over the years, that of course some of us wont appreciate what they are doing.

I dont nessicarly mind not being able to host my own dedicated servers, but I wonder what "custom content" will look like 5 years from now. When its the game company only that can make and release it. If they have no competition, they will do what was done with MW2, sell you maps from previous games and the like. ^_^

Edit: If you want my complete thoughts on this, check my blog...
