Seriously Gamespot, a huge camera with Sony written over it? For a gaming site where the hosts and editors constantly complain about how whiny and idiotic fan-reactions are you do your best to actually start the fanboy wars.
@Mitridon @denhoffi There are interviews with Mark Cerny out where he says that we will see the real power of the system in 3-4 years, similar to this gen actually, look at the games we got this year on Ps3 and at those in the beginning of this gen. But I expect already an upgrade of the quality of games at the end of next year or start 2015 at least when it comes to exclusives (I'm looking at you Naughty Dog).
@Mitridon You have to keep in mind that this is basically just a game made for PS3 and then ported to PS4 (it's the same for Xbox), we will probably see the real power of the next-gen in 2014-15.
@tomkat69pc If it's not your cup of tea that's ok, but I think you're really missing out, try the game at least I promise it's fun, it's nothing like Beyond for example. Here what you choose to do has actual consequences and I think the story and style are worth playing it.
@bksonic123 @denhoffi I'm sorry if I sounded to critical of Beyond I actually kinda like it, it isn't nearly as good as Heavy Rain was but still a solid game. The characters in this game are interesting and the story is to, but the gameplay doesn't warrant a 9 in any way, compared especially to Heavy Rain where your decisions mattered and had consequences in the game, in Beyond they don't, you can't even fail at any part and that deserves to be criticized in my opinion. I just took Beyond as an example because I think there are two major parts that make a game great (Story and gameplay, in addition to a lot of other little parts), sometimes one can be so exceptionally good that it can overshadow the others weaknesses but Mcshea completely ignores that in this game and gives it a great review and here he just gives Infinite a bad score for very questionable reasons and I still think he is spreading controversy on purpose.
@pongley @denhoffi That has nothing to do with the point I just made, if you read it carefully again you will see that I don't criticize him for having a different opinion than me, I accuse him of two things, first being inconsistent with game reviews, one time he is overcritical of the story and in his next review he gives a nearly perfect score to a game that has close to no gameplay value and secondly I accuse him of giving controversial scores to games just for the purpose of getting himself known.
His reviews are getting ridiculous, everybody is entitled to his opinion but as a reviewer of a gaming site you need to do your work in a professional manner and Mcshea has stopped doing that a long time ago. I could counter every single one of his points but I feel no need to do it because mostly this game got fantastic reviews so go ahead everybody and read those and you will get why and where he is wrong. Don't get me wrong here I'm not trying to say that everybody should have the same opinion as me, I would give it a 9/10 but if people don't like some parts of the game I could see it drop to a 7 or maybe a 6 for some people but giving it a 4 is just insulting. The gameplay alone should warrant a score above a 5 the story of course is debatable but I don't really understand his problems with it. I have an entirely different problem with him and his reviews, I suspect that he just gives beloved games a bad rating on purpose just for controversy, it was the same thing with The Last Of Us and DuckTales. He does it the other way around too, Beyond:Two Souls a game that just wants to be movie and got some pretty mixed reviews and has a complete lack of intriguing gameplay but an interesting story gets a 9 from him, why didn't he criticize that game for having a good story but terribly boring gameplay?
I'm really exited for this game it looks interesting but this second screen craze worries me a little bit, it seems like people can really screw up your experience with that thing, I hope they balance it right and don't make those drones to powerful.
