If only the port is broken and you don't use the port I don't see a problem at all with you doing that

Yeah I mean it doesnt even connect to my router. Used the ethernet cable since i got it in 06 and i called up microsoft they said its the port on back of XBOX. So they were like its going to cost $90 i was like no thanks ill fix it myself. Then i remembered that the adapter uses usb.
Just to be on the safe side make sure you get the wireless adapter from a place that does returns with no hassle in case this isn't it
yeah i was thinking of buying it and if it works ill return it and buy it at much cheaper price online or ebay

Well my ethernet port on the XBOX is broken, will i be able to get a wireless adapter and use it to get online. I mean I know that it uses usb port to connect to XBOX so i assume that this will work.
ughh it looks like something is wrong with XBOX everything else works perfectly fine. It worked perfectly fine 2 days ago havent tried playing it since then and now it wont even sign into xbl. it signs into the profile but will never go past network step in testing stage. plus i dont know what other information i can give you, none of the settings are filled out. even though they are under automatic.
