@ck10304 @guynamedbilly It's speech...artistic expression. I don't want there to be any limits to fiction.

It doesn't matter that the majority play the big budget shooters. That wasn't why I said that. I said there are many games that don't glorify violence that he shouldn't have trouble finding them and because of that, there's no reason for him to be constantly complaining about the violent ones.

I don't watch reality tv, but I don't think it should be banned just because it promotes stupidity and drama. I would laugh at any person who actually thought it should be banned just as much as the people that want to ban violent games.

PS. I know he wasn't specifically talking about legally banning them, but that they still shouldn't be made.

"We need to embrace the endless possibilities of video games and prevent any limitations on our creative expression."

So, it's not good to restrict content then or tailor the game away from the creative expression of the designer?

If the content isn't bad, then it's not bad and censorship isn't the answer. Whether through force or peer pressure.

It's obvious that variety is good for gaming, but your one track blinders are disturbing In the year that saw game like Papo and Yo, Journey, Walking Dead, Spec Ops, Miasmata, and many more Indie games on top of that which don't praise violence, you choose to focus on a small number that you dislike.

This argument is old, the points have been made, and it's time for you to embrace the rest of gaming that is more aligned with your tastes. If that's not possible, maybe a counselor would help?

@hostX9 Very well, you are a cheap steak. Very chewy and overdone. I'm a cheapskate myself, so I love the humble bundle too.

@picho86 I agree with everything you said. I was talking about cosplayers, not "booth babes."

@Scorpion1813 @bniglesias Well, that's one of silliest things I've heard in a while. So is the air and everything brown and gray because of fire, smoke, dust, and debris, or because it's an artistic choice?

If you like the washed out look, fine. You have plenty of games to choose from. To suggest it's an insult to say that a war game should look like reality is too silly to counter.

@Scorpion1813 @bniglesias Sorry to have to tell you, but war doesn't turn the air orange, gray, and brown. Unless it's a nuclear war or something. If it's just that way when in Africa, I'd find it goofy but acceptable.

I disagree with a lot of the social activism in the games journalist industry.

Firstly, games are not real life. What you do in a game is not necessarily an action that you'd perform in real life. Just because you had a change of heart from GTA3 to GTA4 doesn't mean that everyone that doesn't think that way are bloodthirsty neanderthals. Remember, this isn't blood, it's code...

As for the cosplay stuff, I've never enjoyed it and I certainly don't defend the actions of that guy who was harassing the booth workers, but when someone dresses in a risque game themed outfit, they are obviously wanting people to look at them. Looking at someone that wants you to look at them is not wrong in any way at all. Is this bizarro Gamespot?

Ugh, I'm very excited by even the idea of another Total War game, but please, please, please don't have the BF3-esque "everything gray and brown" filters or let us turn them off.

The graphics look impressive, but the brown/orange hue on everything kind of ruins it.

The Steambox streaming to a device connected to your TV idea was what I initially thought of when I first heard rumors of the tv Big Picture mode. I think that would be a no brainer option. I don't think Valve wants to develop their own console, because that would be dumb unless they just subsidized a powerful pc for Steam users, which was upgradeable just like any pc. I do think they will try to make significant pushes towards linux development though, or possibly a unix OS which could run Windows programs. (could that happen?)

I agree with some of the WiiU and Forza points. Vote with your dollars and skip both.

I really do like this newsy debate kind of show, but the Point and Counterpointâ„¢ kind of segment seems pointless. I guess it's supposed to be kinda fun but it's totally clear that sometimes the points made aren't genuine. Obviously it was made clear by you guys this episode, but I thought that while watching the others too.

Good show though.

As for the violence vs boobs, I don't feel it's good to chastise Valve for this because even though they could have become the champions for sex and all kinds of vice, there's no reason they are obligated to. The majority of American and increasingly British media also takes the stance of being sex prudes, so why should Valve become the champion of controversy when they are an American company? Especially when they are competing against newcomers to the digital download market and parents might keep their kids from playing on Steam. It was a fight they could have made, but I don't blame them for not.

Being a small game though, it might have gone under the radar and never caused any controversy, see Mass Effect vs Witcher 2. You never know what the angry mother media patrol will make an issue out of though.
