@Mega_Loser @Vidpci Maybe a bit complicated to implement in a safe way to prevent scams and abuse. Still that'd be wonderful news!

@abHS4L88 @DarthLod if they make such innovative and creative games. Why abusing the old franchises then?

Don't you think that maybe... even if Nintendo would make the most dull and uninspired game ever, you'd still love it?

@chipwithdip @thetravman @abHS4L88 @lilcurt1978 Putting those innovative ideas in new games without having to use the Zelda-Mario-Luigi-Seamus-etc card. That would be NOT milking the cow.
Well it's their strategy and it seems to work, selling kids stuff is good, you don't need innovation because kids won't complain about old faces coming back again, they just don't remember them. If I have nostalgia, I'd play the originals. There's too much talent and great games out there today to waste time with the 10000th iteration of the same stuff.
I really cant get how gamers are so choosy about some things, and so blind to see crystal clear lazyness sold as gold.

@SirApathetic005 I think Wii is the console that sold the highest number of units played for a couple months and then played once every 6 months, if ever.
I think we all know a case or two, if not, ask around :D

Nintendo is clearly leaving behind the audience that saw them take over in the 8 and 16bit era. That's what Peter, Tom, and most of the people disappointed with Nintendo miss from the company. Their strategy is effective for the new public, but clearly boring for the adult audience. Games may be good but honestly, I'm not interested to play another variation of the same platformer, with the same characters and views. I won't spend time even trying it, so it doesn't matter how good it may be, it's just not appealing,

Why not opening a branch in the company to develop games for another kind of audience? Games that would make Sony, PC, Xbox... system owners to think twice about what console to buy next.

I don't know, maybe it's less complicated to keep milking the cow until there's no more milk, then sell the company and move forward... But anyway, Nintendo is way far from showing any signs of care for their customers. Just take a 3DS and a PS Vita and compare the apps, not even the games. Facebook, Youtube, Skype, Gmail, LiveTweet on one side,. Swapnote, Nintendo Video, etc on the other... I sold my 3DS for a Vita just because it wasn't useful to me at all.

That's what annoys me. It's not that they can't do any of this, it wouldn't be that hard. It's just that they don't want, or need to.

@Necro_Fear89 You totally nailed it. Wii made a good marketing decission with the Wii... for the short term. I guess they did it in their best judgement to attract the casual players, sacrificing elements that the hardcore gamers appreciate. It may have been a good decision in the short term, but It made lots of gamers to walk away from it and seek another options... those gamers who really put their money in games.

Wii was very attractive at the beginning, but the common story is "Yeah, I used it for a couple weeks, and now it's just gathering dust, only play some weekend, when the family gathers."
So now WiiU is like in the middle... Tech improvements, but still behind the competition... and brings some innovation... but IMO not enough to make it worth for a casual gamer.
