As probably the most die hard SC fan on these forums I have to toss my two cents into the mix. For me I would say Pandora Tomorrow. Every mission was memorable and packed with gameplay whereas the original does have a few levels that miss the mark.

With PT they really amped up the gameplay with enemies actually tossing on Flak Jackets and such as the alarm level raised. The SWAT turn was a nice addition as well as the half split jump and the new jungle setting was such a nice change of scenery from the browns and greys that dominate the original. Add in the Spies Vs Mercs mode that was introduced in PT along with a few other additions and you have a winner. It really is better in every way yet some prefer the original. The entire series is great though, not a dud in the bunch.

I always play the single player portion of COD. Usually multiple times. I play the multiplayer as well but I wouldn't even buy a COD game without a campaign. That is what got me into the series with COD2: Big Red One.

Gotta go with Oblivion. It just had such a charm to it. It was so upbeat yet immersive, colourful and magical. By comparison, Skyrim just felt so emotionless and unsatisfying, grey and foreboding. Oblivion had a great line of quests that really stood out yet I can't remember a single one from my Skyrim playthrough.

I remember sneaking through each castle just thieving everything I could while the King and/or Queen plus servants were sleeping, dodging the guards and pickpocketing everyone in their sleep only to go sell stuff off or hang it on the wall or place it in a case in my home. Such a great experience, sucks that Skyrim lacked these larger castles. I also enjoy having to repair my stuff in Oblivion. Kept looting interesting whereas Skyrim once I had a weapon I never needed to bother looting another again.

Skyrim is the better title though, but I prefer Oblivion.

Great to hear. Hopefully this sends a strong message to publishers as well. If this was developed by EA or Capcom you would get microtransactions, 10 hours of non stop infected killing action, a co-op partner to replace Ellie who would be a dudebro former soldier and your kill count by the end of the game would be over 9000! Thank god Sony let Naughty Dog do their thing. I'm currently playing through Spec Ops: The Line and it's a great game but you can't help but feel the Publishers touch at every turn. Hard to imagine what it would have been had the devs been given complete freedom.

For me cutscenes are the first thing that break immersion. It's not really baked into the genre or camera style either, I'll spend hour and hours completely and totally immersed in a game of Civilization where as even trying it with something like The Last of Us and it's play 10 minutes, maybe 15 if you're lucky then stop for story time. Pop up notifications don't really affect the level of attention I'm giving a game until they're distracting (Call of Duty & Titanfall are prime examples) but some are very helpful as they provide a lot of player feedback. In Tomb Raider I think they come off as useless because pretty much all the RPG style elements seem like an after thought and just aren't that important

I'm the opposite, cutscenes do nothing to break the immersion. However I can't get immersed in something like Civilization or Fallout 2. They end up feeling overly gamey to me, they come across as nothing but toys to tinker with rather than an experience.

This is a nitpick but I find that the further away the camera is the less immersive it becomes. I also hate lots of HUD elements as they can detract as well. Also point and click style games just can't do crap for me. Not sure why.

Call me crazy but I thought Shadow Fall was a solid experience from beginning to end. They constantly kept the experience fresh through level design and combat design. One moment you are in a forested area completing objectives in any order and the next you're on a derelict ship moving Petrosite canisters to open up new areas of the ship and restart the engine core. One moment you're without any equipment using stealth, Echo and takedowns to complete an area and the next your running around a fairly open environment mowing down destructible walls coming at enemies from multiple directions.

Add in the Owl and Tactical Echo mechanic and you get a different gameplay experience than we are used to. Environments offer more player choice in flanking routes and unique elements over the course of the game.

For once the ISA aren't portrayed as absolute saints and Helghast as scum. It actually dabbles in the grey areas a bit and does more to flesh out the world than previous Killzone games which did nothing other than offer enemies, more enemies and hallways for the player. It was the most basic FPS you could find, it did nothing to build up the world in any meaningful way. It just gave you lots of enemies to shoot at... which could be said for any FPS these days.

I must be crazy. But I thought it was a solid experience and above average for a modern FPS game. EASILY the best Killzone game to date when it comes to single player and multiplayer. It's not without its flaws... but I still believe it to be a great exclusive to start off the PS4 with.

BF4 is way better, both in terms of the SP

LMFAO. Oh god no. BF4 has an atrocious single player campaign when compared to Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Everything I have read about this says that Sam Raimi is only a producer, not the director. Next of all the script for the film is being written by Neil Druckmann (Creative Director/Writer for TLOU) and will also be produced by Neil, Bruce Straley (Game Director of TLOU), Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra. So it sounds like it will be in good hands.

Looking forward to this. I hope it acts as a sequel to TLOU with Ellie all grown up and being played by Ashley Johnson. Would really bridge the gap between game and film and be the first of its kind.

I just move on. I give every game I play an hour or two. But I also understand that games typically have a slow build up so a game taking its time is not a problem... unless it's ACIII and the 5-6 hours before you even get to wear your Assassin's outfit.

But I have only done this with a few games I can actually remember off the top of my head...

Valkyria Chronicles
Demon's Souls
Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Donkey Country Returns
Fallout 2

None of these did anything for me so I just ended up selling all of them.
