@esqueejy: It'll be Interesting to see how Stalker 2 , Starfield , Horizon , and Elden Ring stack up against eachother and who gets that GOTY award from more ppl , and there's at least a few more big games we don't even know about yet that will drop In the same year.
@jsprunk: 2021 was a joke period. Honestly I haven't seen a truly great gaming year In a really long time. 8th gen never even had 1 great year at all imo.
@kabloe: Gamespot's reviews and scores definitely aren't as reliable as they used to be , especially when they simplified the scoring system and lost most of the best staff they ever had , who were much more consistent and trustworthy imo. They're even worse than IGN now when It comes to game reviews , yet there was a time when they were the best online and high scores here meant something.
@Zombie8814: I've felt the same way for a long time. I have more fun and Interest In older games , mostly 5th and 6th gen , but anything between 3rd - 7th gen. Only modern games I'm looking forward to are Elden Ring , Starfield , Stalker 2 , RE4 Remake , HFW , FF16 , BOTW 2 , Homeworld 3 , Warhammer 3 , and hopefully Age of Mythology 2/Remaster.
Gaming still has some room to grow with streaming options , I just hope It dosen't end up like live tv streaming that's now overpriced and oversaturated with filler , that cord cutting golden age was over after only a few short years 2015 - 2018 , that's how fast greed took over.
@molinars: I wouldn't go that far , It was another classic though , but I enjoyed other IP and prob 2 other Souls games more. I do wanna see BB 2 but right now If I had to choose I want ER game more than BB 2. Couldn't be hapier with open world direction they're taking It.
This Is one reason why Gamepass Is personally overrated for me , It's missing huge titles like GTA and COD day 1. I like alot of features about Series X , It's great hardware that's actually built better than PS5 imo , but I simply don't care about Gamepass. Feels like more of a last chance bargin bin with samey picks than a Netflix-like diverse service that has most of what you're looking for. Rockstar's response Is also telling , they don't need GP like that and It's not really changing things the way ppl make It out to be.
