@sakaixx: True. One of the few franchises I would be okay with annual releases would be Final Fantasy , because each game Is always different and stands 100% on It's own within the franchise , even the few sequels and spin offs they've done were different enough.
Not enjoying most of these mp maps they're atrocious. The guns sound and feel good but the rest Is a convoluted mess. This game so far Is one of the weaker In the franchise. Atm even Ghost's mp is better than this imo ( which I liked anyway ). Don't believe the hype this Is nowhere near MW2 , COD4 , BO1 etc.
100% this. IMO Graphics and writing/ story presentation arguably more than gameplay helped make this particular game's first Impression/debut release what It was. I personally don't want to see The Witcher 3 with any less that what I already had to settle for In that area given the Initial visual downgrade from the first E3 demos. World Immersion was more Important than combat for my Witcher experience , even If slightly.
The one complaint many people did have with TW3 was the limited / repetitive combat animations yet universally noted the masterful fidelity and *graphical* world Immersion along with It's dialogue and character lore. A downgrade In this area for this game Is significant to the original experience IF those feelings were also true for you. In this case It arguably deserves far harsher than docking 1 point because they managed to fit It on Inferior hardware.
With enough compromise anybody can pull of the same feat but that dosen't mean It retains enough key aspects or that magical suspension of disbelief that people primarily fell In love with It for In the first place. It's a fine line when porting an originally great experience down that already struggled to get It's ambitious vision cohesively on PS4/Xbox One. Some features just can't be too reduced , and sometimes that feature Is graphics. I'd give a 8.0 honestly that's fair , still a great game with the amount of content and value you get.
I still prefer the 5th gen polygonal graphics of PS1 - Dreamcast era most ( yes DC Is partially 5th gen to me )
Like JRPGs with lots of CGI , detailed pre-rendered backgrounds , real-time slightly blocky prototype looking 3D worlds and characters ( think 1993 Virtua Fighter 1 Arcade machine , PS1 FF7 ). Too many games nowdays look like they're trying to be a straight up reality simulator but I had more fun with the uncanny valley concoctions we used to get.
I also still love 8-bit NES graphics nearly as much. I feel sometimes less truly Is more , when thinking of my favorite games that hold up and why , like with music making , limitations free creativity. These eras aged better to me.
Same goes for sound quality love 8-bit - PS1 era , hate most modern game orchestral soundtracks like 6th gen - present stuff. Despite today's technical advantage they don't hold a candle to 3rd , 4th , and 5th gen in those areas In terms of memorability , ambition , composition/ creativity imo.
Graphics are as Important as any other feature , how you compliment each together makes the difference. Each help enhance the overall game's Immersion and Impact.
I am excited for 9th gen / PS5 because I think we will finally have balanced specs again.
@pharoe777: Sounded good to me at first but It's Hulu with ads not the ad free $11.99 version. Also Espn+ Is mostly second or third teir sports as far as popularity goes. I'd personally just get Disney+ and combine other smaller subscription plans with It. This 3 year discount offer Is an amazing deal If you really want Disney+ no matter what. Cool to have multiple options that work for each of us.
