@rickjamesia: Because they honestly don't give a damn they want the continuous easy cheat code stream of revenue that digital and dlc started providing since 7th gen. They don't care where their brands go , all that matters to them are those subs and stuff like xcloud , because they know that's the only place they can win with little effort since they have one of the few largest cloud Infrastructers. True attempts at Innovation by them stopped during the second half of the 360's lifecycle. They drop any great new IPs (Lost Odyssey , KOTOR , Alan Wake etc) that don't automatically perform blockbuster numbers and don't revisit games with cult followings nearly as much as Sony does.
At first they were trying to win over Japan , they had alot of new IP , and were aggressive with AAA quality games and deals with big devs during the first 4 years of 360. I don't like where Microsoft Is trying to force gaming. I like back compat , but I like exclusives even more. Gamepass Is actually anti-consumer to me as well and no matter how much value Microsoft offers , they simply don't have enough quality original content to offer anyone anything without relying on older past gen games , and they haven't built enough of a legacy to make that worthwhile to me. Gamepass feels barren and 99 percent of the games I WANT to play are still behind paywalls.
@irishplusfour: True , IGN hands out high scores like candy , their reviews have almost no credibility anymore , and their staff acts like a bunch of hipsters
or maybe E3's proposed direction of integrating "social media influencers" heavily Into the event Is the problem and not Sony. I wouldn't wanna be associated with that garbage either. Greed and hosting cost could simply be the reason as well. They can better control the narrative and save money If they go Nintendo's route. I still hope Sony attends some big gaming events TGS etc , but E3 has went downhill for years imo. Mid 90's E3 - 2009 were the best years ever imo.
